Okay - so one of my big fears came true today. I got the baby up from his nap and put him in the car to go pick up older ds from kindergarten like we always do and my keys were not in my purse. No keys anywhere. I searched and searched and knew I would be late at this point, so I called my dh who was fuming and had to miss a meeting to go pick up ds and bring him home. This cost him over an hour of driving time and he had to go back to work so he will be late tonight.

I have turned the house upside down and can't find the key. I already lost the first one so this IS the spare. The car is only a year old so the service dept. just informed me that I will have to tow the car in and have it programmed to the tune of $160 not counting the towing. Dh is going to kill me. I am thinking my 20 month old plucked them out of my purse and stashed them somewhere. Unfortunately today was trash pickup day and if they got put in the trash can (he loves to drop things in the kitchen trash) then they are long gone.

Please say a prayer to St. Anthony (saint that helps find lost things) so I can find my keys!

I really really hope you find them!!! When DD was 3 she liked to 'hide' things.. Once when my wallet and keys were missing I asked her (in a very playful voice)If you were going to hide this, where would you hide it. ANd asked her to go hide it for me (a pen or something non significant) and followed her...she had a stash of stuff pushed back under her dresser....including my keys, wallet and sunglasses I thought were long gone.

I think Christy K's key's once ended up in the kids wagon (Sorry Christy! Still one of my fav posts ) .... Check everywhere (freezer too)

Ugh! I am so sorry. I am forever misplacing things. Look around in some out of the way places. I've found my purse in the refrigerator and a tupperware container of spaghetti under the kitchen sink, and those are just the ones right off the top of my head. LOL

I hope you find them. $160 + the $$$ for towing seems outrageous just to get a new key.

What about the toy box??? Jacket pocket? Under the cushions on the couch. These are places i have found mine before.

I am praying you find them. I'd hate for you to have to pay that much!!

Oh and did you think to ask your 20 month old? Once i asked my little one...Where's mama's keys and he went right over and pulled them out of his hiding place. They can remember sometimes.

I couldn't find a gift card this weekend. I looked EVERYWHERE and my husband even started helping me. I was so frustrated. I prayed to St. Anthony in the living room and I swear to you, I walked into the kitchen one minute and it was laying in the MIDDLE of my kitchen. Totally freaky.

We recently were missing things around the house too, Dh's toothbrush, remote controls, etc. About a week ago I noticed my 16 month old Ds putting his hand down into a large piece of pottery that sits in our living room. It has a narrow neck on it so you can't really see into it. Well surprise surprise that thing was full of all kinds of stuff! Ds was stashing all kinds of crazy things away like a little mouse.

I'm sure your keys are around somewhere. You'll probably find them in a pretty funny spot. Good luck!

Oh Crap!

I too lost my keys- 3 weeks it took me to find them. Luckily I had spares. Note plural. I have done this in the past, and made lots of copies. But that doesn't help you.
The latest loss was actually me missing the hook I hang my keys on and them droping into the pocket on the cover of my mixer! I only found them b/c I missed the hook again (and noticed this time) and my "spare" fell in the pocket-got two sets out.
So my suggestion to you is check anything in the near vacinity of where you left them. Shoes-especially ones that you don't wear often, cabinets nearby....

I just found them!!! They were on the floor in the garage - I am quite sure my little one pulled them out of my purse and discarded them while I was bringing stuff in from the car yesterday. I found them while ripping apart my car and literally looking on my hands and knees with a huge flashlight in all the dark places in and around the car. I looked EVERYWHERE in the house and in the process organized 3 bins of toys, vacuumed under the fridge (damn it was nasty under there!), cleaned up every pile of junk on the main floor of my house, coralled all the Easter decorations onto the dining room table, and cleaned the whole toy closet in the playroom.

I kept asking him "John, where are mommy's keys" and he would say "keys - gone" and then he would say in his little sing song voice "keys? where are you?" over and over. He thought it was such fun.
