Ok, hopefully this shouldn't be TMI, as we are all women here, but I have had breast tenderness lately. Ok this may not sound strange to some, because I know it can be a symptom of PMS. Only thing is, I don't have that as a symptom of PMS. I generally have the water retention, headache, crankyness, etc..but not the tenderness. I also am not pregnant, so I have no clue what's going on. I'm not sure if I should just let it be, or if I should call my gyno and have a chat, or what? I don't feel it's an emergency by any means, but it's annoying. Anyone have any thoughts?

I wish that I had some really good advice for you! If you know that you aren't prego, and that isn't one of your regular pms symptoms it wouldn't hurt anything to call the dr. ARe they both equally tender? is it in a certain spot? how long has it been going on?

Could it be from too much caffeine? Try cutting down on caffeine and see if it gets better.

When in doubt get it checked out.

If they are both tender its most likely period related - even if you never had the symptom before it doesn't man you won't ever. Bodies change as we get older

I never had tenderness as a symptom of PMS, but just in the last few months, my breasts are tender for a few days about a week before my period starts. I have always been very regular and now I have another way to predict exactly when I will start. I am convinced that my hormones are just messing with me.

As you get older, your systoms change. I get symptoms I never had before, drives me nuts. I became an awful crier, everything makes me cry, I get headaches, heart burn, and 1 night of insomnia. If it is around your period, then it is probable just that, but if it gets worse I would call you gyn.

Great, I just turned 32 so now not only do I have gravity working against them, but they have to develop PMS tenderness too?
You all offered up great advice. I will definitely cut out the caffeine and see what happens there. Also, it is on both sides, and I have not felt any lumps on either one. My cycle is not regular, so I will just see if that appears in a few days and chalk it up to a new PMS symptom....no fair! Why does it have to get worse as we age?

I will be 32 in a couple of months, and mine have started to get tender right around the time I ovulate. Scared me that I might be pregnant a couple of times, but now I just know what it is. If in doubt, however, bring it up to your doctor or your OB/GYN's nurse.
