Since moving here I have had a horrific time falling and staying asleep. Dh too. I am almost half tempted to go see a doc and ask him for a prescription. Every time I see the Ambien CR commercial on TV I just want to have some.

I used to be able to just lay down and pass out. Without tossing and without turning. I could stay asleep until the morning, maybe wake up ONCE in the night to pee (or tend to Ty if he needed it). But between the jets, the trains, and today this damn storm since 3am, I have had no sleep. It's going to be a very long day today.

The boys jolted awake this morning too, scared out of their mind. Not good.

Christy, I've used ambien and lunesta both, and I like lunesta better. Less "hangover". Plus lunesta isn't habit-forming.

I have been dealing with Insomnia for prolly a year r so , i talked to my dr and he gave me ambein . I only take it when hubby is home (3rd shift worker ). But i tell ya it does the trick and lets your body get the much needed rest. I was up till 5 am last ( hubby worked) and finally i laid down and slept til 730 LOL . So prolly wouldnt hurt to look into that . I wish i could take them and get rest more often but im scared I will sleep through a bad dream r something , cause they Knock me out and i cut it in half and only take half of one LOL

I do know that Tylenol also makes something called "Simply Sleep", it doesn't contain painkillers. I don't know if it is safe to take while nursing, though. Maybe you could check with your doctor. I know when I take a hot bubble bath, it makes me very sleepy. Good luck.

I actually had the best sleep last night -- I just woke up (it's 7:45 am here) -- I think part of it had to do with being so tired from not sleeping the night before. So maybe that means that every other night I'll have a good night's sleep!!

I've actually considered taking Ambien or Lunesta because I've struggled w/insomnia off and on for most of my adult life. I contribute a lot of it to anxiety...my head hits the pillow and I start going over and over in my head all that I have to do the next day!!

I am bad about caffine -- I'm going to try to cut it out earlier in the day. I always exercise at night ('cause the gym's empty then!), so that might be hard to change.

Thanks for all the advice...you guys are the best.

Good to know..thanks. I will ask my doc about it. I just need a solid night's sleep. I'm completely drained after my coffee wears off!

When Im a stress head i cant sleep so to break up the cycle Camolile tea and Valeran tablets work for me.

If you are going the Camomile Tea route you need to take it for three nights usually before it kicks in.

its also helps if you cut out the coffee and coke drinks from the afternoon.

the lavender essential oil sprinkled on your pillow will help as will a warm bath with six drops of lavender essential oil

hope you continue to get a good nights sleep
