My kids are in bed between 9 and 10 most nights. That sounds late compared to most of you, but let me explain that we lived in one time zone while DH worked in another. So, we've fallen into this routine to compensate the time difference. Between 9 ad 10 would be between 8 and 9 where DH worked. Also, we are out a little later than most because we are at the karate school usually 3 nights a week. Plus, we homeschool. So, the kids sleep a little later than most. They usually wake up on there own around 8.

My kids are 9 and 12...my 9 year old is in bed between 8:30 and 9PM during the school week. He might read for a little while, but not too long. My 12 year old is a night owl, I remind him of the time at 9:30 and he usually lays on his floor or in his bed to read. I have to go back in by 10:15 and tell him to turn the light out. Sometimes I'll hear him later on though, reading with a flashlight. L.OL!

Between 10:30 and 11 for DS. He wakes up at 8am. Sure that's only 9 hours of sleep, but most days he'll take a 3 hour mid-day nap. He gets the same amt of sleep whether I put him to bed at 8pm or 10:30, so I pick 10:30. Late in comparison to the rest of you, but I'm not one to get up at 6:30 just to keep him quiet so DH can get enough sleep before he has to work (it's hard enough to do it for a couple hours as it is). I roll out of bed bleary-eyed at 8am to start my day with him. Most nights DH and I don't go to bed until 1 am because we've spent time together after he gets home from work. Our house just runs different than others' I guess. It's working for us now, but I'm sure when we have another baby come along, life will dramatically change around here.

my 2 sons almost 3 and almost 6 go up to bed about 7:20(they tend to talk and giggle they share a room) they know there is no talking after 7:45. then they are up anywhere between 6:15 to 6:45. i saw a report on tv not sure what show but kids who don't get a good amount of sleep 10hrs or so have a higher chance of being obese(don't know if that is true or not but interesting). dd is 6 months and she is usually out by 7:30pm. in the summer if they are not tuckered out from all the fresh air and swimming i let them stay up a little later and if it is really sunny out lol....

6:30 for the 20 month old, 7:00 for the almost 4 year old, and i go to bed whenever the new baby sees fit--usually around 10 or 11. BLAH. then up at 5:30!

Tell your DH if children don't get an adequate amount of sleep they won't grow to their full height. Children do most of their growing at night.

My DD is extremely petit due to some of her prenatal and early childhood experiences. We have worked on many factors to help her catch up on her height and making her get enough sleep is one of them. When we first got custody of her she was barely on the chart for height and weight percentile (way under 5%). At her last physical she had jumped percentiles again and is now slightly above the 15%. A child who isn't allowed to achieve their genetic height will end up being overweight in adulthood.

At 5 years old, DD still needs about 10-11 hours of sleep every night. Since I get her up between 6:30am and 7:00am, she goes to bed by 8pm and is hopefully asleep by 8:30. Some nights I'm so tired, I go to be at the same time!

DS #1 is in bed between 7:00-7:30 p.m.

DS #2 is in bed usually between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. He is not a very good napper so he needs to be in bed early.

I like it that dh and I have some time to ourselves before we go to bed.

Kelsey and Thom are both in bed by 8 . Some nights by 7. Kelsey is usually up around 6:30 but some days sleeps in until 7, but Thom is usually up around 7:15 am. I have a friend that puts her's down at 7pm and they are up at 6. They are 3 and 2. My friend is up at 4 AM. That's the middle of the night for me. Kelsey used to go to bed around 11 am and sleep until 9 or 10 am. But I changed that. And now that I'm working full time, 7 or 8 can't get here soon enough. I'm not far behind them at 9 or 10 pm
