For your kids mostly is what i am wondering. My dh and i disagree totally on what time should be our sons regular bedtime. I say 8:00pm not only because our ds is 4 ( almost 5- in May) but because we get up early before 730 am. Dh thinks that 9-10 is an acceptable bedtime. What about you ladies? What are your kids ages and bedtimes??

My 3 year old goes to bed at 7pm b/c he refuses to take naps anymore so after dinner he's half passed out. He wakes up around 7am. My 4 and 1 year old go to bed i/b 7-8pm. The 4 year old reads in bed for awhile and is normally deep asleep by 8:30pm. She wakes up i/b 7-8am.

Anyway, you can see i agree with you, not your dh! Tell your dh it gives you guys more couple time also!

AAAACKKK 9-10 I don't think is a good time for kids to go to bed 7:30 is our cutoff and it is bedtime. Sometimes we let them stay up until 8 but I think a good nights sleep is good for anyone!!!

All my kids -- 7, 5 and 19 months -- go to bed by 8 p.m. My 7 yr. old will often stay up reading in bed until 8:30 or 8:45.

at 4 my kids were usually in bed by 8:00 -8:30 unless we had the car and had to pick up dad from work.
now the remaining two are 18 and 16 and we are lucky if they are done with homework by 11:00.

It varies by night at our home. My husband works late many nights each week so we let our daughter stay up to 9-9:30 at least 1-2 weekdays in any given week so she has her time with her daddy. Most nights she goes to bed between 8-8:30. On weekends we occassionally let her stay up until 9 or 10.

She has always been good about going to bed whenever we ask as long as we follow her bedtime routine.

My kids were in bed by 8pm but seldom fell asleep before 9pm. During the summer I let them stay up later as long as they were behaving.

My dds are 8 and 11, my 8 year old goes to bed between 8 and 8:30. My 11 year old goes to bed between 8:00 and 9:00. When they were four they would go to bed no later than 8:00PM!!!!
This is what my dd's health book says: Children between the ages of 3-10 need 10 -15 hours of sleep each night.

my 4 & 5 YOs are normally in bed by 8:30, up again by 7am (one is in KG, the other goes to Day care). Sometimes on weekends, we let them stay up a tad later, like maybe 9 or 9:15. Seems to work for us. (If I tried to get them to bed any earlier, I'd never get any fun time with them, as I work FT. And, they are not sleep deprived - we found our "groove" so to speak.)
