**Disclaimer**

MS Mom of the Week is a fun way for us to get to know the Mommysavers members. Newbies to the board as well as regulars are welcome to participate. The Mom of the Week is randomly selected a week in advance of her being featured. I do this so I can contact you, let you know your feature date, and arrange to receive a picture from you to include with the survey. Having a picture included is so we can make it a little more personal and put a name to a face. This is optional of course, as are all the questions being asked. If I don’t hear back from you before your “feature” date, I will randomly select the next person and then get back to you the following week. If you would like to participate please PM Christy_K_ and we will get you signed up.

Let’s get started!!!

What is your first name? Trudy

What are your kids’ names? Nathan,Coty, and Mercedes

Were you ready for motherhood? Yup...couldn't wait....named my first son after the first little boy I ever fell in love with when I was about 12...a couple at a church years ago adopted a little boy named Nathan and he was the cutest little thing I ever saw...having never been one to play with dolls and such..the minute he smiled at me...I always knew I wanted kids some day.

Have you ever met someone who has completely inspired you to be a better person? Can you tell us about that relationship and how it has affected you?
Hands down...my MOM. My sister was born diabetic and I remember like it was yesterday seeing her give my sister her first shot(she gets 2 a day and always will)my Mom did and then just hugged her crying her eyes out and saying "I'm so sorry"just over and over...I was 5 and it was heartbreaking. As hard as that day was within 6 months my Mom's phone # was the number handed out from Pittsburghs Childrens Hospital for people to call with questions...and amongst all that...made 3 full meals a day-kept a spotless house...and my life nor my brothers ever skipped a beat due to anything going on with my sister. She handled all this with my Dad making about $20,000.My Mom never really had anyone to rely on for help...she taught herself to sew and made some of our clothes-made curtains-learned to redo old furniture...she did it all. If I could aspire to be only 1 thing...it would be to be just 1/2 the woman I see her as.

Do you have any nervous habits? What are they? I don't know why but when I get nervous my hands go ice cold...so I tend to figit with them alot.

Did you ever date a guy your parents did not like? Were they right about him? YES......and GOOD GOD YES!!!

What do you want your kids to remember the most about you?
That I end every conversation with a laugh no matter how it starts.......I'm their Mom...I wanna be the one they always know is there for them no matter what.No matter what situation they ever find themselves in be it good, bad,or ugly-I don't want them to ever feel a hesitation in calling me.

What did you learn the most from your mother?
My Mom is a SUPER SUPPORT Mom...if I called and told her I wanted to try walking on water...she would find a way to convince me I could do it...so what did I learn???I guess thatI really can accomplish things if I put my mind and heart
to it.

How many coupons do you use on a regular basis? What is your best money saving tip? I use coupons by the handfuls!!!(oh yea the cashiers just love me!?!?!)Best money saving tip-I highly recommend coupons-I highly recommend cooking at home(this is now where Ryans Mom10 and Margienboz get a pat on the back for putting up with the full on recipe posting assault I unleashed on the kitchen forum they moderate-I appreciate you guys and you both ROCK )

How did you find Mommysavers? Have you referred anyone here? Were you referred here?Just googling around out of boredom and voila...hereI am Mommy of the Week...I knew pretty much right away I had gotten lucky just didn't know THIS lucky!!!

Out of all the things the members here have offered in terms of advice, support, counsel and criticism, what have you personally benefited from? And do you remember specifically who the member was that offered that advice? With great advice and tips flying at ya from every aspect on here I don't know if I could pinpoint one piece of advive....as far as members."Klippy" comes to mind first and formost....followed immediately by "Stacy Chambers".....there's actually quite a few people who's post I run accross regularly and always seem to get something from....."treehugger" is another one.But everyone as a whole makes it great....so I'd thank everyone for all the advice.

Have you ever met a mommysaver? Nope

What is the most romantic thing your dh ever did for you? My husband pulled a MrGyver move in the middle of a storm-power outage and managed to get my bedwarmer working with his car battery somehow He's done alot actually...he always makes bubble baths...send flowers from the road(he's a truck driver)He's a KEEPER.

Tell us five things you like about yourself.
How about 5 things I try to be...the best daughter, mother sister, wife and friend I can be.

What hobby do you enjoy the most? What got you started on it? How would you rate yourself? Can you show us a picture of your proudest piece of work? I love to take pictures and am good at that, started when I was probably 8 and my Grandfather would always let me take the pictures. As soon as I get my new scanner I'll share pics-I promise

How many frogs did you kiss before you found Mr. Right? Was he worth the wait? I dare not throw an actual number out there but YES he was wll worth the wait!!

What is your favorite genre of music? Who is your favorite group? Have you ever seen them in concert?
People that know me make fun of me cause they swear they never know what they will hear coming from my car...my favorites range from Pantera to Dixie Chicks to Andrea Bocelli I do it all with limited amount of country.I haven't been to a concert since I saw ZZTop in Az maybe 6-7 years ago.

List three things you have on your Life List; things you would like to accomplish before you leave this world.
I would like to find someone who could peace together my Moms family tree for her...would like to see Egypt(I love all things Egyptian)and would like to buy an RV so dh and I can travel when he retires.

Which room in your house best reflects your personality? My whole house is pretty much me(whis is ok with dh cause I'm more into modern than girly)but I would probably say my bedroom...my favorite color is orange...and I like a room to have a "feel" so my room is orange, dark brown and khaki with copper lamps and accessories.I feel myself relax just by walking in there....LOVE MY BEDROOM!!!!

What do you see your children growing up to be like? What career path would they choose?
Nathan will do something creative cause he's an artsy kinda kid,Coty will do something fast paced-maybe even something in graphic design hard to tell...but he's a mover...and Mercedes...hard to tell really...she's only 5-she wants to be an artist but for some reason I could see her as a vet.

Is there something we would never guess about you? Some kind or quirk you have no one close to you knows about. (C’mon tell us!!!!) For all of you who seem to question it...YES...I REALLY AND TRULY DO cook more than the average person!!!!I swear!!!

Are there words you live by? What are they?
I have a few favorites....

(2)Excess on occasion is exhilirating. It prevents moderation from acquiring the deadening effect of a habit. ~W. Somerset Maugham, The Summing Up, 1938 and last but not least

Thank you for sharing about yourself! I guess I need to visit the cooking section to try some of your yummy recipes. That's one part of the board I haven't ventured into because I know I'll spend WAY too much time there!

It was good to learn more about the lady, who in my mind loves recipes more than I do!

What a great read! I loved the #2 words to live by.

Take a look at my sticky on foods in Special Needs. We could also use your help to add to some of the wonderful suggestions.
