Does anyone know if you can use sunblock after the expiration date & if so, for how long? I have some sunblock for kids, spf 50 that expired 4/2007. I was wondering if it would still be safe to use & if it would still be effective.

If not for it's actual use, it's good to remove permanent ink from skin and wood. HTH!

Good question. I just looked at mine and it doesn't have an expiration date on it at all.

I don't think it would be harmful but it would probably lose some of it's protection. My boys are fair skinned so i don't think i would use it. JMO though.

I used expired sunblock on myself and DD all the time. If it's really old it will loose it's consistency but it always seems to work fine and we've never had a sunburn.

I would get a new one. I read an article about sunburn prevention that said to buy new sunblock each year, because they lose their effectiveness. I'd definitely toss it since it's expired.

DO NOT USE IT!! I used sunblock last summer that was expired and we all fried!! It was awful, I had to take my kids to the doctor and they told me that expired sunblock does not have the protection it should and should not be used. HTH

I'd use it for myself but not ds, he's extremely fair and I'm always so afraid that he will burn. Better safe than sorry.

DITTO on this. It is worth the money to buy a new bottle than to put your children through that kind of burning, thinking they were good to go!

Thanks for all the input. It's not that expensive, so I guess I will buy new. Like some of you mentioned, better safe than sorry, especially where the kids are involved. Thank you all for your responses.
