On April 25 I placed an order that qualified for Free Super Saver Shipping. The FAQ say "Please note that your order will take an additional 3 to 5 business days to ship." and I'm fine with that. All three items are available. I just need them for when school lets out (May 17) to work with DD over the summer. Went to check the status of my order just now, and noticed in the email confirmation:

Shipping estimate for these items: May 15, 2007 - May 17, 2007
Delivery estimate: May 21, 2007 - May 25, 2007

Almost THREE WEEKS before they are going to put the order in the mail? What the heck is up with that. I've never had this problem before, but I don't order much. I double checked and all the items are still available, so there's no hold up on something coming back in stock.

Of course, I can't just change it and pay the $5.99 shipping because it says "We are preparing these items for shipment and this portion of your order cannot be canceled or changed."

I just wish I had noticed it sooner. 3 - 5 days fine, 3 weeks, I'd have paid the few dollars more.

I've had them tell me that before, too, and the items arrived within the week. In fact, I've had it SEVERAL times, now that I think about it! I even had an item back ordered last Christmas that arrived the afternoon I got the back order notice!! Don't give up on them....give it a few days and see what happens first!

Yep! She's about to get out of first grade. Lets see there's Edge Elementary, Bluewater Elementary & Plew Elementary. Any of those ring a bell?

EDGE!!!! I kept thinking it was an "E"...but thought maybe it was a "leaf" of some sort!! LOL Thanks! Plew, I haven't heard of, and actually Bluewater was brand new when I was in college. The whole IDEA of Bluewater Bay was brand new about then! LOL

Jennifer, I drive by Edge about 2-3 times a week! How cool!!! And, Anne, my son is getting out of first grade, too. Small world. . .

Oh, and I am having the same issue with amazon.com right now - except my estimated shipping date CHANGED and then I could not change the order! ARGH!

They totally make you wait about a thousand years for your stuff...most of the time, it's worth it to me. Their shipping prices can be really high otherwise IMO!

I've had this experience with Amazon too. Nothing that I've ordered using the free shipping has taken as long to get shipped & arrive as they have said that it would, so hopefully yours will arrive sooner than expected too.

I order from them all the time and I've always gotten it within a few days no matter what the delivery estimate was.

I love free shipping, I really dont care how long it takes. Sometimes Id get the items pretty quick.
But if I plan on Christmas shopping or birthdays, I know to order early.

But if the staus of your order is bothering you, call customer service.
