A while back, we were discussing Random Acts of Kindness - which are oftentimes simple things that can make other people's day so much brighter. I have been thinking about that this morning for some reason.

We are finishing up the school year - just 11 more days. The teachers are under a good deal of pressure at this time of the year to wrap up all of the curriculum, plan lots of fun end-of-the-year activities, complete all of the paperwork that is necessary at the end of the year, and finish up the year on a positive note for the students and parents. Add the fact that Spring Fever has hit the classroom and many of the students are just DONE working, and that can be a recipe for STRESS!!

So, I've been sitting here thinking about ways that I could make a fellow teacher's day just a little better. It's too late this morning to bake brownies but there's got to be some things I can do to bright one (or more!) of my coworker's day.

Any suggestions?

Something that won't take any money~you could take your kids outside for an extra (short, I know time is of the essence!!) recess, and offer to take a fellow teacher's class with you!! It would give her (or him) a little break, and you could get outside, too! Hope this works for you (not sure about your weather right now, or school policies, but thought I'd throw this at you!!)

How about just a little note that says Have a great day! It's simple, it's free and it is sure to make someone smile....

You don't even have to sign it, just stick it on their desk or door...

I also have to agree about the extra small recess- I loved them at the end of the year- especially on Fridays! Or if you are learning about the seasons or nature- you could try to go on a little walk with your class (and the other teachers class). The kids will really enjoy it and it will give you a little break from it as well!

Sometimes a little appreciation can go a long way ...

Even if you picked one teacher and said, "You know what I really appreciate about you ..." I can sail for weeks on one compliment.

You are such a sweet person to be thinking about how you can bless other teacher's when this is such a busy time for you as well.

As a small token of appreciation for my daughters preschool teacher we bought one of those sun tea glass jars, tea bags and kool aid- lemonade, put in all down inside the jug and tied a ribbon on the top.. It was very cute! She loved it..

How about pictures of her and her class.

Candid shots- not the old classic You better smile big- mommy is paying good money for this class picture.

Or pass out paper and have her students write down their favorite memory of the year
then making memory book out of it.

Food. Nothing makes people happier at work than food. LOL

When I did have a job, occasionally I or other coworkers would stop at Panera Bread and bring in bagels, cream cheese and pastries. I would spend maybe $12 (there is always a coupon somewhere) and have the clerk slice the bagels. That way even if you only buy 12, technically 24 people could still eat. People would just got looney. Its nice when you show up at work and there is a little something waiting for you. Its a pretty cheap way to satisfy and show your appreciation to a large group of people.

Good for your for trying to make your coworkers days a little brighter.
