You know, I think this sounds really great for y'all. The best part about it is that he still gets to work, but on the weekends so you won't need childcare, and it is a very "studly" job so he won't get resentful of you when you go to work and it won't mess with his manhood. LOL He will still have a career and won't feel like he is giving that up. I hope everything goes really well for you on Monday.

Many years ago when we only had two kids my dh stayed home with them for awhile. He actually really liked it and if I had been making a bit better money we would have stuck with it!! It sounds like a great situation for your family!!! I hope everything works out!!

DH tries very hard and does quite a bit.

Thank you. I do need the reassurance that it will be ok even though I know it will. I think that I am the one that is having a harder time with it then him. He wants to stay home and as you said it ladyluck says it is my turn to bring in the money.

We have had our rough patches and still do. THis being one of them and I think that it will smooth itself out doing this. He already is saying that I can call the shots when I am the one bringing in the majority of our income. Yeah we will see when the time comes.

A boss I had once was a Director, so her dh stayed home w/the twins. Worked well.

I have a neighbor, great guy, whose wife is a CFO - he used to be in a rock band. They seem happy. He's cool, watches other people's kids and his house seems very clean! He also seems to manage the $$ well, and they seem comfortable. She's pretty cool, too - lots of fun.

I met a guy at a coffee shop recently. He has a 3 yr old and a 3 mo. old. She just went back to work because she made more than he did. So far it's worked well. I've only talked to her on the phone once, but she seems great and doesn't seem to have a problem w/ her dh setting up playdates w/another mom. He seems so gentle and calm w/the kids, and he's actually been very nurturing w/my daughter, too, even correcting her on occasion, so I think he's got the right genes for it!

None of these guys come across as "feminine" in any way. In fact, they all had the challenges we do in scheduling, figuring out how to get something done w/a baby or toddler (or both) around, and realize how hard the job is. Maybe that's why they are all so down-to-earth!

My dh has always been the one out in the world with the normal job, but after 4 years of it I have to say I wouldnt mind switching positions! If it is something you and your husband both want, i say GO FOR IT!

I am in a similar situation--I am up for a huge job, interview on Monday, and if I get it then in the Fall I may be working full time and DH might just work here and there. My DH is actually amazing at staying home with the girls---he gets more done than I do!!

Yes I did get the job! Yay!! I already went for the drug testing even though I worked there less than a year ago. So I have to wait for that to go through and for them to come back to me with a final salary proposal. My stomach is turning in knots thinking about going to work even though it wasn't that long ago. I just can't stand that summer is coming and now I have to go sit inside all day...ugh. I missed last summer with the girls because I quit in September. I just tell myself that at least I have the weekends.
So if everything goes well, which I know it will I will start in the middle of June.
