I called a spa up in the town she lives in now and got her a gift certificate for a facial. I know she has wanted to do that.

Money is REALLY tight this week-imagine that!

Anyways, my sister and I went in 50/50 and got my mom flowers. It was all we could come up with since we are both out of state and cant go visit and taker her out or anything.

My Mom is getting flowers (blue iris, her favorite), a nightgown (I get her a nightgown every year...it's kinda a running joke now) and I got her some of her favorite chocolates from a family owned chocolate store that she loved to go to when she lived in town. Oh...the kids made her some magnets for her fridge. She was in desperate need! I also enclosed a current framed photo of my kids for her.

The last couple of years I have given my mom a gift cert. for a pedicure. She always likes to have freshly painted toes for the beginning of sandal season.

My Mom and my Step-Mom are both gardeners, so I made them each a Gardener's Gift Basekt. I went to the dollar store and found a couple of really nice baskets and found some spanish moss for the bottom. Then, they each have a decorative plant pick, pretty flour pot, lemon drops, Burt's Bees lotion, Butter Cookies, and a couple of silk flowers for decoration. I think they look pretty cute and only cost me like $20 each.

I still don't know what to get MIL. She asked for a Chain Saw. Seriously! EEK!

My precious Mama is in heaven and has been for 19 yrs now--I wish she was here to buy for--We are having my MIL's carpets cleaned for her-something she has wanted for a long time--she has scholiosis and can't handle doing a lot of housework and shes not much older than me! She has had these carpets for 20 yrs, never cleaned--and I am going to help her clean her house tomorrow--my sister in law is having her a dinner Sunday--don't know if I will go--I have my kids I need to spend time with--shes not their grandmother, so we will see.

My mom is 2500 miles away. Our budget is so tight it squeaks. But I sent her a necklace from Silver Jewelry club and am sending her a pair of crocs - she has fibromyalgia and diabetes, so her poor feet hurt. I love mine, so I hope hers will work for her. I'm also sending a few books, as she loves to read.

My mom's back has been going out on her at the drop of a hat. So she wants us to get her a couple of rose bushes, and then we are going to plant them for her. I still have no idea what to get for my MIL.

Generally, I call and send a card. This year I found a really pretty nightie and robe on sale and bought them for my mom. She won't get them on Mother's Day, but I will give them to her next week when I see her (she lives 4 hours away).

We are making her lunch on Sunday, and I will be taking her to Atlantic City some time in the next few weeks.
I don't really get the whole hype about Mother's Day, (may be bc I am not a Mom yet). I try to bring my Mom flowers randomly through out the year, bc I think it's nicer than just to do it on Mother's Day. So, last year we didn't get her flowers on MD and I could tell she was a little disappointed. Won't make that mistake again
