One year I took my mom to dinner and movie. It was nice and I"d like to do that again sometime.

This year we are having my mom and MIL and the dads over for dinner on Saturday night. I always buy them hanging flower baskets.

I don't talk to my mother, it's a very long sad and depressing story and I used to get upset this time of yr until I had my girls. dh's mother already informed us of the stuff she doesn't want. What a nice woman she is. So the great guy that he is went and bought the first thing on the list a hanging basket! LOL!

We got my mom her very first digital camera and (this is the big part) we are going to teach her how to use it! Her birthday was last week so this is a combo present.

I just made a big spa gift basket- A candle, bath fizzies, soap, lotion, bubble bath, a couple of the little shampoo and conditioners you get at hotels, and some purse sized lotions. Then I got her a bag of circus peanuts (her favourite candy). All told, I spent less than $10 and it's a large basket. I figure I'll see her over the weekend and give her the "home spa kit". But other than that, nothing special. Of course, it's not her birthday.

We're having MIL and DH's 2 brothers (and their spouses/children) over for a bbq on Sunday. I'm pleased because then I don't have to leave the house! We decided that DH and his brother can bbq and prepare it all!
As far as my Mom....well...I don't even want to get into it, but she decided that she needs "a quiet weekend at home but thanks for the invite and as always take care".... that's what her message stated. And..."If I don't talk to you on Mother's Day, have a good one.." whatever....sorry, didn't mean to run off on my own vent there!!

Oops...I also bought MIL a small photo album that can hold 24 photos. I'm going to print off some photos of the kids, some family photos, etc. that I know she'll enjoy. I may also have oldest DD draw her a picture that can fit into one of the photo slots.
