I bought the mens/boy's hair cutting buzzers from Walmart plus it came with attachments. I cut my sons hair at home and save a bunch on not having to pay for the professionals to do it. I do it as well as they do, in half the time.

I used to tip them 15-20%. The cut was an average $10.

Oh my gosh yes! You have to tip! I know it means extra $ but that's just the way it is. I usually give 10% unless the person takes a Lot of extra time or is Super good with ds, then I give more. Ds's hair is so easy to cut that it only takes maybe if they really stretch it out 10 minutes. Usually it's more like 5 mins, so that's why I don't tip 20%. Now when my hairdressers spend a lot of time with me, I tip extra.

Yeah I agree you have to tip. I would also look into maybe taking them to a barber shop usually it's a lot cheaper. before i started cutting my hubby's hair he only paid $8 at the barber shop and kids were half price if they went in w/ dad.

Yes not tipping just shouldn't be an option. 15-20%. It's not about it being a quick service, because while cutting their hair she could be missing an opportunity for a higher priced patron. I cut my ds and sh's hair at home. But when I wanted a new style, I would take him to get it cut initially and then trim it after following the salons cut. I would definately look into barber shops or coupons.
