I keep a spray bottle of bleach water and spray the counter with that. So far it has worked wonders!

We had a major ant problem and the only thing that ended up working for us was to buy a can of Raid. We even had them in the bathroom. I was told to find the ant trail and sprinkle corn starch but I couldnt' find how they were getting in. The Raid for ants worked wonderfully.

I've read that small piles of cornmeal work. They eat it and leave, but they can't digest it, so they die.

Good luck!

Kat and I went out of town for a week to visit my mom and when I got back last night I found that our apartment had been invaded with ants. I hate to use chemicals because Kat is into EVERYTHING, so I got after them with the vacuum cleaner. I was worried that they might crawl out of the vacuum cleaner, but apparently the heat or turbulence kills them. The pest guy should be here in a couple days, so I'll keep vacuuming up ants until then.

We are in the same boat! I get down on my hands & knees and wipe down the kitchen floor under ds' chair about 5 times a day. I still find a straggler here & there, but as long as I clean, they seem to stay in check. Now, the other morning I left & forgot to wipe down his chair. He has fruit for breakfast and the chair was covered with ants! Luckily it is a booster & I just took it off & threw it outside.

Good luck. I'm going to try the raid!
