My advice would be to have her call a travel agency and see what kind of deals they currently have going.

Cheap Airfare, Hotel Reservations, Car Rentals - Kayak.com. They are the best. They search through all the travel websites for the best deals. You can also look up hotels and such. We've had great luck everytime we've used them.

Good luck!

I am not sure if Southwest airlines fly out of where she is, but they have really good fares to Orlando. She can get the best deals is she books directly through them online.

Be sure that she knows that June at Disney is very very busy. The waits for the attractions will be long. Ideally she should go at another time if at all possible. If not, she must be prepared for the longs waits, bringing things to keep the kids entertained. They do offer fast passes for some attractions but you can only get one at a time and they only distribute so many a day so some of the most popular rides will run out of them by mid day.

We have been to Disney twice in June and just got back about a month ago. My best advice is to shop around on the expedia/orbitz sites. That is where we have had the best luck getting discount airfare/hotels. As far as a hotel definately get one that has a kitchenette in it, or at least a fridge & micro. We have SAVED a good chuck of change there in getting snacks/ food etc. We have even made hamburger helpers, sandwiches etc. Some of the hotels we have stayed at offered free continetal type breakfasts which help. We keep water/pop bottles from the first day there, clean and add water at night to take for the next day. I also have brought in nonmelting/non sticky snacks and have never had a problem with security taking them. Also take advantage of hotel shuttles for parking. It is now $10/day to park at disney.

When we were there last month, another mom at Magici Kingdom was telling me about a deal that Univeral had where if you bought tickets more than a week ahead of time you got another day at their park for free!!! That might be worth checking into.

Finally check out books from the library. There are plenty of good ones about going to disney on a dime, Birnbaum's etc.

Have Fun

I just saw this post. Hopefully, your sister has made the travel arrangements by now. We are also going in June and just made our arrangements. Doing things only a month ahead is really last-minute compared with how most people plan their Disney vacations. There is a Disney Vacations message board on iVillage that is very helpful. There are also a lot of other Disney message boards she can find just by doing a google search. A lot of the posters go to Disney at least once a year & are very knowledgeable.

Since we didn't have much time to plan and research (DH is attending a work conference near Orlando, and his employers approved his trip only a month before it takes place), we used a travel agency. We found a online one that specializes in Disney vacations and the Orlando area. I googled their name and found user recommendations and no complaints. We had already bought our flights on Southwest & the travel agency has made our Disney reservations and answered any questions we had. We are staying at a Disney resort for 2 nights so we can get the Extra Magic Hours (early and late times at the park, that are only for people staying on the property). This will probably be our kids' only Disney World vacation, so we wanted to spend the extra money and get that extra time at the park. Because of the late notice, we could only get low airline rates on certain dates, so we can only spend 2 nights at Disney before we have to be at the conference hotel. The night we arrive in Orlando, we will get in at 7:00 p.m., so we are spending that night at an off-site hotel that costs much less than the Disney ones. We didnt see any need to pay extra to be on Disney property if all we would be doing that night was going to bed. We can check out of that hotel early in the morning & even though it will not be check-in time at the Disney hotel, we can drop off our luggage there & head straight for the attractions & the hotel will store our luggage til we check-in. When we check out of the Disney hotel on our last morning, we will have them store our luggage until we are ready to leave the park in the afternoon. We bought our park tickets separately, so we have 2 nights hotel and 3 days park tickets. The travel agent's knowledge helped us plan all that, but you can also learn these things from the Disney message boards. Hope some of this helps!

Mousesavers.com is a great website! I signed up for their free newsletter. They have lots of good ideas of how to save $ in the park, accomodations, reviews from parents on shows, etc. Hope it helps. I know I check it often to make sure I don't miss anything!

Also, if you go on Ebay and search for Disney vacations you can usually find a great deal. I think it was Coastal Vacations I was looking at the other day that seemed to have lots of great reviews. You would have the hotel real cheap, usually 2 adult Disney tickets, and have to sit for 90 mins and listen to a sales pitch but it seems worth it to me. I'm a realtor so I would take it just for the experience of seeing anothers persons view on real estate sales to compare to mine. I think the last one I looked at was about 180 total for 5 nights with 2 adult tickets! :happy dance:

One other thing is that I've gone before in June and your sister may want to be aware that there is a "red t-shirt day". It is kind of an informal gay pride kind of event. I don't mind that at all and my children and I are very open minded but some of the people were taking things too far in my thoughts and cross dressing and just acting inapropriate for a childrens theme park. You may want to verify when that is taking place as they do not post that usually.
