I normally buy whatever is on sale, or whatever I have a coupon for when it comes to cereal, but quite frankly, I'm tired of all of the sugary cereals. I feel like I'm feeding my kids a candy bar for breakfast when they eat Fruity Pebbles, etc.
What are some of your favorite Healthy cereals that your kids enjoy as well?

My kids love kix and chex. They also love frosted mini wheats it has more sugar than kix and chex but it has so much fiber and honestly I don't think that it's that hard to get them to eat the cereal with less sugar just don't give them the option.

We love Cheerios. Multi-grain Cheerios have more sugar but I love the taste. I saw that Cheerios came out with a multi-colored variety but I think they have more sugar, too.

Personally, I eat Kashi Go Lean. I'm not sure a kid would be willing to go from Fruity Pebbles to that, though.

Try some of the Barbara's cereals. Of all the 'natural' cereals out there, I think Barbara's are the most kid-friendly.

Another one you will find in the health food section is Clifford Crunch (has the big red dog on it) by I think Cascadian Farms. It tastes like Lucky Charms without the marshmallows and it is loaded with fiber. My kids really like it.

I get the Kashi Go Lean as well, but there are other Kashi brand cereals that have a little bit sweeter taste. I put dried cherries in my GoLean, so that sweetens it enough for me. Sometimes I'll mix it with another Kashi, like Kashi Crunch, so it's sweeter.

I love the Kashi brand cereals (along with the granola bars and crackers). I tried the Go Lean that is warm like oatmeal last winter and it was really good. They have a new one out called Kashi Vive-with probiotics added. Tastes good and my little one really likes that for some reason, every time I have a bowl he's waiting for a spoonful. I saw on the Kashi site for kids they have a new cereal out called Mighty Bites (with a $1 off coupon to print) with 5g of sugar, 3g of fiber and molasses, honey and evaporated cane juice as the added sugars, instead of the high fructose corn syrups.

I have a box of fruity Cheerios and I checked the box, it has 9 grams of sugar and in the ingredient list sugar is 2nd, corn syrup is 4th and it also has dried corn syrup. Normally my kids eat the regular Life cereal though. Oh, they love the Clifford cereal too by Cascadian Farms. I found it before at Big Lots for a lot cheaper than the $4 or $5 a box at the grocery store or Whole Foods.

I usually buy cereal at Aldi's and it's the healthy ones. I don't buy the sugar cereals. They are also happy with oatmeal.

We love the Kashi cereals around here. They have a blueberry cluster one that has no high fructose corn syrup and ds and dh really like it. I'll eat it but it's still too sweet for me.
I'm very adamant with not buying the candy bar cereals either. Frankly they look disgusting to me, how could I ever feed it to my child?! Now I'm not one to always hold back either, so when/if ds asks for it I'll let him pick what he wants once or 2x a year as a special 'treat' although 'treatment' might be the better word. The Kashi cereals are pretty expensive, but I'll just pour ds a smaller bowl and he'll have it with a banana or something. I know I'm weird, but at ds's school they will often ask the kids what they had for breakfast and I'd die if he said one of the candy bar cereals, I know, I know but this is just my personal opinion.

We don't eat those typical sugery cereals, the most sugar they eat is in the new Fruity cheerios. They love any kind of cheerios from plain to fruity and Life. We get some organic cereals from whole foods or costco like Panda Puffs, I actually have never checked the sugar level in those, now I want to go look at the box!

I only buy
Cheerios, plain (sometimes Honey Nut)
Honey Bunches of Oats
Frosted Mini Wheats

My girls don't complain. I actually bought some sugary cereal for dh and the girls while I was out of town and they really don't eat it as good as they do the others.
