Well I'm 31 and have been thinking about getting a tattoo off and on again for years. But now I've been thinking about it more seriously. My friends are shocked. Do you think I'm too old? Do you have one? Do you regret it? Where would you suggest putting it?

I don't think you are too old.

I have 2 of them. One on my ankle and one on my arm. No, i don't regret getting them, but i kinda regret getting one on my arm. Whenever i wear a tanktop or sleeveless top, dress, whatever......everyone can see it. And right now, it really is dull and needs a touch-up. If i could do it over, i would have put it somewhere that no one can see it or maybe on my lower back, so when i wear a swimsuit, people could see it.

Good luck!!!

we are the same age and no its not too old.
I personally am scared of needles (yet I did manage to have a kid)

I heard they dont hurt and some say it does. So either way, Im not getting one cause Im a wuss!

Get one that you can easily cover up with clothes - just in case you need to.

I knew this one lady at work that was only a temp and she always wore long sleeves, until the heat wave hit. Then she wore a sleeveless top and from her shoulders to her wrists were covered in tattoos! It was something to look at. I havent seen her around lately though.

I'm 40 and was recently thinking of getting one. So no you're not too old. I've been watching Miami Ink and have been wanting to get one. I had no idea where I wanted to put it though.

I have 3 and I don't reget any of them. Also there isn't any age limit IMO ... My best friends mother just got one and she is 58 yup she got one to match mine and her daughters.

I had one that cost about $20 to put on and $2000 to take off. It was just the size of my pinki nail and very personal but I wanted it off. Your epidermis changes as you get older and it will end up being a blob at some point and no retouches in the world can reverse the aging process.

That is JMO. My 26 yr old daughter is covered in ink and I find it offensive! nuff said!

If you're going to get a tatoo, my suggestion would be to have it put somewhere on your body that you could cover it up if you don't want certain people to see it. I live in a very conservative part of the country and some people look down on tatoos, especially job recruiters.

If I ever got a tatoo, I would put it on my upper leg or upper back. I could show it off when I wanted to and cover it up when I needed to be more conservative in my appearance.

I had thought about getting one for years, and DH is getting one sometime soon. So when my dd's went to a birthday party they brought home one of those fake ones the kids use (these were real pretty ones too). DD decided she wanted to put one on me, so she put it right above my ankle. At first I liked it then a couple days later I thought, no I dont think I could handle looking at a tatoo on myself every day. Im so darn wishy washy, that I'd probably get sick of it real quick, then what would I do then!?

So you may want to try a fake one somewhere where you think you might like one and see how you like it after a couple days.... worked for me.

Your're only too old if YOU think you're too old. I think you're young (even 50 yr olds get 'em). I do think you're brave - it's not up my alley.

I have three and I don't regret any of them. One is around my ankle, it is low so it hits my ankle bone. Its a flower chain that a bf drew for me. The second is inside of my bikini line so it is hidden. The third is a huge piece with 3 flowers and is all black on my leg up near my hip. I am thinking about getting a small tattoo on my foot that will be a sentimental to only me. I love them. They are addicting. I was going to get one on my lower back until I heard what they are called nowadays. LOL
