I told my DDs that when they want to just let me know. My DD#1 is going to be 9 next month and doesn't want any holes in her ears. My DD#2 was 6 when she decided she wanted them. I was 8 when I got mine done. HTH

My dd was 3 months. My pediatrician said as long as she had her second set of shots she would be fine. The day we did it, I was so nervous, but the little booger slept right through it! Now she loves them, she lets me change them, never had any problems with them and she even picks out earrings she likes at the store, we have to go to the jewlery counter, at her request every time we set foot in Target.

I don't have an opinion on it one way or the other...I think babies with earrings are cute, just like I think babies without are cute. I have sons and I hope they never choose to pierce their ears, I think it's very unflattering on men IMO.

I wanted to peirce dd's ears when she was a baby but dh didn't want to. So we waited until she asked for them. She just got them done 3 weeks ago, one week after her 8th birthday.

Our house rule is they have to be old enough to ask for them and help take care of them. DD number 1 had them done during kindergarten, and dd number 2 had them done the summer before kindergarten. DD's number 3 and 4 are still too little. We will have the same rules for them, too. And the boys...well, they better not even think about it! LOL

My dd has been asking me to get her ears pierced just this week, and she'll be 4 in a few short weeks. I don't know how I feel about doing it this young, as she really has no concept of the pain it causes. My fear for her is that she'll get through one ear, then totally spaz about having to have the second one done! I was 8, and dh says 15 for our girls, so we'll see!

I had dd's ears pierced at 4, shes almost 5 now. It was definatly her decision, but honestly I would have done it earlier if my family didnt give me a hard time about it. She looks darling! I think its easier on them the younger they are! JMHO!

I made a huge deal about my dd turning "double digits" (10) and going to get her ears pierced. I wanted to be sure she could take care of them herself and change them whenever she's on her own (at school, practice, etc.)

I'm going to get mine done again at age 40 (few weeks ugh)!
