Maybe a little. I still work outside the home so I have put in some effort. I just don't have the time to spend on my hair and make-up that I did before, not to mention that I'm exhausted usually.
I have somehow lost 6 pounds off of my pre-pregnancy weight so that is a plus to being so busy!

For the first 18 months of my second son's life I think the only time I got out of my sweats was for church and the occasional meeting at school. I did lose all but 10 pounds of the 40 that I gained with him, but I wasn't happy with my weight and my cute clothes didn't fit. When I found myself putting on my "nice sweats" to run errands I had a wakeup call and decided NO MORE. My sweet dh who is an exercise fiend and is in fabulous shape never ever complained but when I started complaining he said "Yeah honey those saggy butt pants you have been wearing are really not doing you any favors!" So I cleaned out my closet ruthlessly and gave away all the jeans with stretch, the faded yoga pants, the cheapo Target faded t shirts, etc. and started counting calories. I am happy to say I have now lost all the weight (thanks Motivated Mommies!) and all my cute clothes fit me again in time for summer!!! If you had asked me last year I would have told you I would never fit in those size 6s again, but I did it and it feels great. I am making my comeback! LOL
I do have to admit that I don't wear makeup every day though. Only if we are going out. I have continued to have my hair cut and highlighted every 12 weeks - I would never give that up. And I just had my first pedicure of the summer yesterday. Pearly little toes will do wonders for your self esteem!

I dont think I'm frumpy, but I dont spend a lot of time on myself. I've simplified the routine: I used to take an hour to do my hair, and now I have a style that I can just comb and go. I wear make up when I have work or something important going on. I only shave once a week and in the shower. Before, I would take a long bath 2 times a week. And instead of wearing uncomfortable clothes and heels, everything I wear has to stand up to the kids: I need to be able to chase them down, not flash the world when they grab at me and know that I'm not ruining my shirt every 5 minutes when one of them spits up or pee's on me.
So, I don't think I've let myself go so much as I've just stopped being high maintenance. I do let the glamourous, pre-baby me come out every once in a while.

I have been struggling with this for 5 long years. When my first dd was born I really went down hill for the first two yrs , then just as I was getting back to me I got preggo again. As since haveing Sabrina I have been in a mojor slump. After takeing care of both kids , the pets, and the house I have nothing left for me. I dotn have any energy or money for mommy. I am the heaviest I have ever been and all my clothes suck. I dont get pedicures or manicures. I color my own hair to save money and I dont even get it cut as often as I should becuase I dont want to go to the salon on the weekends and I dotn have anybody to watch the kids on a weekday.
To combait this I recently when on a spree. I bought 4 new outfits and I didnt even look at the prices. I gave my self a pedicure and got a new hair style. Next week Im getting new glasses and a new pair of shoes. Wanna know what the kids are getting? NOTHING!

I am about to do this! I am going to say forget about the budget this month ( well as long as the mandatory bills are paid) and I'm getting some new clothes!!! I know I shouldn't be so superficial, but if nice new clothes will help me with my self esteem and get me on the right track to taking better care of myself, then I'll be superficial!!

Yup my body is defitely gone to greener pastures. L.o.l. Before I had children it would take me 45 minutes to shower then do my hair and makeup and get dressed. Now a days I can't even use the bathroom without one of my little darlings yelling "MOM!" never mind try to do something with my hair. It's frustrating but I'm hoping it gets better. I'm trying to lose weight for health reasons and now it's raining out so I can't go for my walk.

GREAT POST! You said that very well. I was always pretty low maintenance, but before kids I would actually buy white clothing and shoes with heels. With 2 boys - one that is a toddler - I have to be able to run and squat and get dirty and not spend a fortune on dry cleaning. Nobody wants to see my underwear when I bend over. I couldn't carry my huge toddler around in heels without breaking an ankle. And I have cut my once long hair to shoulder length - it is very straight and looks nice even when I don't have time to blow it dry. I have created lots of short cuts for myself.

Definitely. I used to get my hair cut and highlighted every 8-12 wks., wore suits, quality names. Never left the house w/out makeup and NEVER in my glasses (thick lenses). Now, the kids are a priority and just getting out takes a lot of effort, so I'm the one that gets done last...I go w/out makeup a log and occasionally wear my glasses. I haven't touched my suits, pumps or dresses in 7 years (don't know what would fit me, either). I hope to have me back as the baby gets lower maintenance. We stopped by the Y yesterday and she had a blast in the kids' room. I just have other things on my plate than ME. However, if I had a lot of friends and family around, and a bigger social life, that would change, as I would have the pressure of trying to look good, as I try to for ds' school events.

I have somewhat let myself go, defintly put on weight but trying to get back to where I used to be. I still do my hair or at least try right now its short so its fairly simple. I do shave my legs after all I dont want to beat my dh in the hairy legs dept My clothing is not as stylish but I have 2 boys and a daycare with 3 others so no I dont wear cute skirts anymore. I still will never be the girl with the jeans and the white tennis shoes, but I dont wear high heels either. Love my clogs and new birkenstocks for summer!
