Does anyone feel like they've "let themselves go" since having kids? Is your appearance not as important as it once was? Of course I think kids have a way of getting our priorities straightened out for us, but looking good shouldn't have to totally be put on the backburner either. How we present ourselves on the outside says a lot about how we feel about ourselves on the inside. Does anyone feel like they've become a frumpy mom?

DITTO! to what blessed w/6 said. Seems like when you become a mom your wants/needs go on the back burner and come last.

Without a doubt! Sometimes I look in the mirror and wonder who that is that's looking back at me

I haven't let myself go, but I'll admit I've let my healthy eating and exercising slide a little. I've noticed I seem a little fluffier lately. I've gained a few pounds (like 2 or 3). Although I'm not overweight, these few pounds make me feel frumpy, so they're gonna have to go. Goodbye Double Stuff Oreos, hello grapes!

I dress the about the same as I did before I had my dd. I was never overly stylish beforehand, so I'm just as out-of-style now as I was pre-dd.

YES!!! I have been struggling with this topic lately! It's horrible. I have gained about 30 pounds since meeting my husband. I have a picture posted in my bedroom, right by the door that I have to look at daily. It was taken when I was 25. I keep thinking if I look at it, I'll try harder to get myself back! I have become "that" woman. The woman I NEVER thought I'd be!!! EVER! DH says that if I left him, I'd probably be successful and very fit, but since I'm with him I have no motivation. I'm smart enough to know that I can never be in the same shape I was when I was 25. I mean, come on, cellulite, stretch marks here and there, aging in general, it will never look exactly the same, but I can look a LOT better! So, ladies, how do we get it back? How do we start caring more about ourselves and find out that it's OK to treat ourselves better?? I treat myself like dirt!! Like one poster wrote...I don't even recognize myself anymore and when I see pictures of me, I'm like...are you kidding??????

I have struggled with this the past year. I totally let myself go, but am getting better. I buy myself clothes now, shave my legs regularly (yes i had stopped since i never wore shorts), keep my nails and toes painted, and get my hair done. Not back to manicures and pedicures yet, but maybe when Jennas out of diapers I'll get back to that! If you have been reading my blog you would have already heard my story about this!

Yes! Yes! Yes! With two girls and a baby on the way i feel like the queen of frumpy! I just do not have the time to "primp" as much as i would like to. I need to start putting me first...at least once in a while.

Well, I do not have as nice as clothes as I used to (20+ yrs ago before kids), I weigh alot more and I no longer wear makeup. But I am very happy with myself. I would like to loose weight, but the extra 30 pounds came from having 7 healthy children, so I can live with it! I do not have time to mess with my hair and make up like I used to, But I think I look fine without it and it is way better for my allergies to not wear makeup. I do not have the fancy clothes anymore, but I do not work in formal offices any longer, and I can no longer wear the high heals because of my plantars facitious. So, I may not look as good, but I am happy with myself.

Nope!
I make time to get my hair permed when it starts to go straight. I break out my foot spa and do may toe nails and fingernails once every 2 weeks. Shower daily, put on make up and do my hair. Shave regularly.
I always told myself that I wouldnt let myself go when I got married or have kids.
Ok so I dont have the body of a teen but Im just considered average, I suppose.

Guess I have it somewhat easier being I only have 1 child who will be 7 in 2 months.
