Are you trying to cut back on gas? Or are you cutting back on other things to pay for the higher gas prices? With my family it's both. We don't use anymore gas than absolutely necessary, but with how high the gas prices are we do have to put off buying non necessity things longer. What I've heard on the news lately is that the amount of gas used by Americans is actually going up.

Both for us. If we can walk to an errand we do that. Last weekend dh road his bike to work. I've been driving slower on the interstate when I commute to work on weekends.. You do get more miles per gallon when you drive 60 as apposed to 70 or higher. On nice days we have walked to and from school for my 6 yr old.

The price of groceries has gone up considerably so we are cutting back on buying things we don't need. We shop more at Aldi's and use price match ads at Walmart so I'm not driving to different places to get items on sale.

We cut back on both (or I should say I did- since I do the shopping). DH has not really have a choice to not drive to work- although if they are working someplace over 45 minutes away- they will carpool. I however only go out 1 or 2 times a week to run errands- I've just really gotten to the point of not wanting to leave the house anymore- everytime I start my vehicle up- I cringe!
