Are there any others out there like me?? I don't turn my nose up at the Mom's who are crafty, etc....I think that's great you can do these things! But for me, it just isn't a passion. Ever feel like the odd Mom out when other Mommies invite you over for crafting parties and cookie decorating sessions? Aren't these things just supposed to come naturally once you become a Mom? Shouldn't I be wanting to do these things?
I'm not "That" Mom either!! And I'm fine with it, I have no desire to scrapbook(but love to see what others do & truly respect their talent)

I do try to cook from scratch on occasion(especially after my dh freaked out b/c I served him those boxed potatoes one too many times )

I'm not a big fan of baking cookies or cupcakes, and try to weasel out of it if I can, lol!!

I quit getting invited to the crafty, stampin, candle, whatever parties, cause I never showed up to them!!

I'm not sure if this stuff should come naturally to us, but it didn't for me, so I guess we can have our own little club of NON-crafty Mom's!!!

Now, all this said my ds start KG in the fall, so I'll be meeting all kinds of other Mom's, I just hope that some of them are misfits like me!!

I fart too.....................oops, my bad!!! lmao!!

I am the most non-crafty person around! I fit right in with you!!! I think if you cook a box of mac and cheese and bake some chicken nuggets it is a homemade meal!!!

WHOOOOOOHOOOOO I finally fit in somewhere!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have not an ounce of craftiness in my body I adore people who have the clean house all the perfect kids scrapbooks all that good stuff I wish they could rub it off on me. I can say I feel alot better knowing that I am not alone when it comes to not doing any of "THAT MOM" type stuff.

I am not the craftist person. I have a sewing machine (mom gave it to me 8 years ago) and dont know how to use it. I bought material 6 years ago determined to teach myself how to sew so I could make window curtains. I cant even sew buttons back on. I do not scrapbook. I think it would be fun, but I dont have the time or MONEY-all those supplies cant be cheap.
I do bake (80% of the time from a box). I can cook homemade meals. I am a lousy housekeeper. I cant stand it when people just drop by to visit and I have a mountain of clean laundry on the couch-they always stop by when my underwear are at the top of the clean clothes too.

I'm not a crafty person. My dh's aunt is a retired teacher turned professional scrapbooker so she does the scrapbooks of my family. She is really talented, and is making money at this new home business. She uses the ones of our family as an example for new clients. Eventually we will inherit them

I can do the children crafts with my kids, but that's it.

I can't sew eiither. In high school I made a turtleneck that was HUGE. It was too big on me when I was 9months pregnant.

Baking is my talent.

I think there's a LOT more to being "that mom" than just crafts and baking. I told my DH after we had kids, that I wanted to be "that mom" where all the kids wanted to hang out at our house....to me, that meant I play with the kids, I search the internet for fun, new activities for them to do with stuff we have around the house (hence the lifetime subscription to Family Fun), things like that.....I love baking, I can cook fairly well (I've been trained by Grandma since I was tiny!), and crafts/sewing come natural to me and I LOVE when I can create something cool for the kids...but, they're happiest when I'm on the floor with the hot wheels cars, just zooming around and that means more to me than some adult thinking I'm the "perfect" mom.....I just want my kids to think it.

I just gotta give some other perspective about this. I geuss I am "that mom" because I do all those things that you stated and I am very organized, involved in all of my kids schools and love to create things with my hands. I like to keep a neat house because I cant function without some type of schedule and order. But here is the funny thing, I feel like I dont fit in anywhere. I feel like an outsider with most other moms because I feel like that they judge me for being that way. I dont care if other moms dont do things the way I do, I have learned that every household is different and you gotta do what you gotta do to keep your family running. I dont judge others for not doing crafts or making homemade costumes but I feel like I shouldnt be judged or looked at in a different way because of these things. I think we all need to remember that we are all moms and it is okay to be different and that we all have our own way of doing things and if our kids turn into positve productive members of society isnt that the important thing? I dont think that there should be a division of moms those that do and those that dont but for some reason society has made it that way and that is sad to me. I think that one thing we should all remember is that we all have the same problems and concerns and we need to come together and not seperate ourselves.
