I am not "That" Mom!!! Truly!! Let me explain... I don't scrapbook (though I've seen what Ember can do and that's amazing!!), I don't sew my kids' costumes, I don't cook from scratch unless you consider me scratching my butt while stirring macaroni, I don't jump up and down at the prospect of a playdate, and I fart and burp

Are there any others out there like me?? I don't turn my nose up at the Mom's who are crafty, etc....I think that's great you can do these things! But for me, it just isn't a passion. Ever feel like the odd Mom out when other Mommies invite you over for crafting parties and cookie decorating sessions? Aren't these things just supposed to come naturally once you become a Mom? Shouldn't I be wanting to do these things?

I think we all have our interests. I am a bit of a math nerd myself. But I would like to strive to be "that mom" only because she some how has a clean house. I say we all have unique interests. Yes I like to do the things you descriped but at the same time. I was happy as a clam getting to do my sisters taxes!

I haven't scrapped in a while, I have only really made one Halloween costume which consisted of glueing a tail on a black leotard, and somehow glueing ears on a headband. I have to admit, I love to bake.
I wouldn't worry about it. I am sure there are other things you love to do, that your kids appreciate. Everyone loves different things.
There are always slice and bake cookies and canned frosting. Even those Wonder Moms use those when they need too.

I like to cook, but I would not have a clue how to make a costume! I think Scrapbooking is cool but I am happy at looking at these girls books.

I have a relative that is not a crafty mom. It does make me a bit sad, she doesn't create keepsakes for her kids.Sure, she has a photo album....Then I realized that just because she hasn't made handprints out of plaster it does not mean she hasn't created many happy family memories for her children.

Some of us have talents and interests others do not. Personally, I am not really into sports, so I haven't pushed my kids to be. My hubby gets in from work late, or used to work nights so I knew most games and practices would require my presence. I feel bad about that.

I'm sure you have interests you will be able to share with your children. Maybe they have not reached an age where you can do so yet. We all have some talent, don't feel bad if yours doesn't include glue and glitter!

I don't think you're wierd at all. I feel the same way. I am beginning to scrapbook but I'm not that good and I hate cooking and have never sewed anything in my life. I've been scared to even become a member of a mommy group because I know I'm not like the other mom's so I totally understand what you mean.

That's not me either....I can't do anything that requires sewing crafts or being creative.

That made me snort/laugh!

I'm one of those moms, too. I don't scrapbook or collect scented candles or tupperware. Actually, I don't get invited to a lot of those functions. Other moms seem a bit wary of me on the playground. I don't know if it's my appearance or a vibe I give off. Or a combination. I guess I ought to work on that so I can plan more playdates for the kidlet.
