Does anyone have any ideas on what to do with a dh with a bad sunburn? (Besides putting him out of his misery?) He decided he didn't need a shirt this weekend and needless to say, it ain't pretty today. We've tried a cool bath with vinegar, aloe, lotion and this spray for burns stuff. It doesn't feel any better than this morning and I'm about to lose my mind. Any other ideas? Thanks

Aloe Vera gel like lotion. I know they carry it at Walmart.

Nothing worse than a BAD sunburn.

I just read an article that said to take Ibuprofin and put whole milk on it, like the vinegar bath. It said that the fat in the milk helped take the sting out?? You could give it a try I guess. good luck. HTH

I know that vinegar helps. And this is a long shot, but honey helps a lot of cuts and such heal more quickly than normal. Maybe it would help on a sunburn??

I do have an aloe vera plant that we just cut off and put on wounds and sunburn. Does help, but vinegar seems to work quicker. IMO.

A can of Dermaplast. This is the best stuff for sunburns. It will really take the sting out of the burn. It cost about $9.00 a can - but is well worth it. Ask the pharmacist where it is located in your store. I always buy a can in the summer.

This is an old remedy. 2 regular strength aspirin every 4 hours. It takes the sting out and makes it liveable. The other topical things help. But, when you have to wear a bra and work you have to have something else. It must be aspirin. It it runs out of your system, it will sting till you take more.

There is a laundry starch that is called ARGO Laundry starch and it is the best thing for sunburns. You mix it in with your bath water and you pour it over you and soak. It takes the sting out and stops the burning. this is what all the lifeguards here use for their sunburns and we have been using it for years. I hope dh feels better soon and that he remembers a shirt and sunscreen next time.
