We have been trying to save money on gas by driving less, walking more, etc. Walking takes a LONG time with 4 kids 6 and under. We have a Suburban that we drive when all 6 of us or just the kids and I go anywhere. DH and I both have bikes but we don't trust DS age 6 to ride his on the road yet. DH has been surfing Craigslist a lot lately for bike parts to make a bike car for us and various other things and he found an Adam Tandem Trail A Bike for $95. My brother went and picked it up for us. I didn't even know that anyone made a tandem trail a bike, I have only ever seen singles or I would have been having my eyes out for one. DH researched them real quick and the single seat ones sell for over 120 on ebay. One site said that the tadem ones sell on ebay for about $300 since they are no longer made. We tried it out on Tuesday and it is so much fun!! With this and the Cannondale Bugger Trailer some friends gave us a couple years ago we can get around without spending money on gas and get exercise and have fun as a family. I think that we created some green vibes ( both green as in better earth and green as in lusting after our tandem :-) as we rode on Tuesday. I am so excited to use this! The guy we bought it from had pulled 2 kids on the tandem and a trailer behind it with his 3rd. I don't think that I am fit enough to do that kind of hauling yet but maybe someday!

That is great. I'm glad you were able to find something that would work so well for you guys and it sounds like you got a pretty good price.

That is so great! I ordered a single one off of amazon (with my survey gift certificates) and we just got it put together to tonight so ds can try it tomorrow, I am excited because dd can ride behind me in the trailer and we will attach this one to ds's bike
