MOMS Club is a club run by volunteers and let me just say that if it's a big club, the Membership VP is always busy and inundated (sp) with requests. So give her some time to reply. (I know this because I used to be the Membership VP!!!)

If International gave you the info, they should have also given you a phone number to either the Prez or the VP Membership. Call them for info if you don't get a response by email.

And in my experience, no one is ever any good at updating email addresses. So if the email address you got was for a specific person who's not the Membership VP, she might be forwarding it on. So that takes time too. Good luck! It's a great organization!

I have been in this club for three years and love the activities. They offer something everyday and I decide if I want to do it. The activities range from free to things that cost per child, but the friendships with neighbors is great. I did membership too and there are a lot of emails to respond to, but you will get one.

Usually MOMS Clubs will have you attend one meeting to check it all out. If you don't hear back, feel free to attend one of the general meetings that are posted on the website or in the newspaper. Club activities usually slow down during the summer. Everyone goes on vacation or their schedule changes or it is too hard to get together when older children are home. If you attend a summer meeting they'll probably have lots of time to talk to you.

I agree. Take full advantage of the fact you can attend up to three events before deciding to join and if I may suggest, make one of those events the member meeting (which is once a month) Pick different events so you meet different folks and see if you click with anyone. I attended the member meeting first (for both of my MOMS Clubs before joining) and then a park date. You won't be invited to go to playgroups within member's homes until you are a member, so don't take offense to that. It's just policy!

The member meetings are great because typically they have a child care room and the babies can go there, while the MOMS meet. AND a lot of the time you will be able to socialize without the interuption of kids. Most importanly though, you will see during the meeting that the MOMS club is not just a club for mothers to get togehter for playgroups, it's so much more. It's about charity work, community involvement, sponsoring child overseas, etc. I LOVE what the MOMS club stands for.

I wish you the best with it!

Unless I am missing something....the website that I found for my local chapter only has a sample calendar...and NO meeting places listed. And no phone numbers, just an email to the VP of Membership and it is a yahoo address.

I think I remember seeing something up at our community center...so I am gonna take a walk in a bit here.

Otherwise I will have to wait and see if she replies to my email.

Thanks girls!! Thank you alot!!

Do you have a community newspaper? Our MOMS Club posts when meetings are in that, like the third Wed. of the mo. at 9am.

I was wondering where you found the information for your moms group? Did you go on line and find it and what did you look under it for? I have been wanting to look into something like this but dont know where to find one. and hey if ya want to drive the 4 or so hours we could always start a moms group of our own!
