Ok, I will be brief....I'm not good with passing out bad news.

My prayers are just not enough. I hate not being there either

My aunt, the one who had the stem cell transplant, is NOT doing well ~ At all. To the point where she now has the "whatever its called" staph host infection. That is when the host's body (her's) reacts negatively to the transplanted stem cells; in this case her sister (my other aunt). My mom says she has an infection in her hand where the iv is as well, and she is swollen up so badly and covered in open blisters. WHen I say "covered" i mean, completely (the only place she is not in pain is on her left breast) .... so really use your imagination here ladies.

Her family has stepped up a bit more since this first went down, but I'm fearing, in the sound of my mother's voice tonight, things are just not good ~ At all. To the point where my mom said to me with a shakey voice "Christy, this could kill her".

The docs have said that days 10-20 are the worst, but by this point (day 23) she should be doing much better. Some people at this stage have even been sent home to recooperate, if that can give you an idea of its severity

She is having surgery tomorrow morning. I am praying to God something good comes of this. My mom is just shook up about this and I HATE NOT BEING THERE (again) IN TIMES OF NEED

Please ladies....lift us up. We need those prayers and positive thoughts.

I am sorry that your aunt is not doing very well. I am sending up prayers for your aunt, Christy, along with you, your mom and the rest of your family. It is never easy watching one suffer like that and it is even harder when you can not be there to offer support. Please know that I am thinking of you!
