My friends and I are throwing a baby shower for another friend on Thursday, she is a first time mom and we are putting together a book of parenting advice that sounds off the wall, unless your a mom. For example, one friend is using put yourself in timeout when things get to be too much. Anyway, I need to have 6 pieces of advice tomorrow and I am drawing a blank. Can anyone help?

I have the PERFECT book for her. It is full of "hip mom" advice and is HILARIOUS. I read it for the first time in May, but it would be perfect for the first-time mom.

Take pics especially of milestones with a digital camera that records the date on the flashcard- that way when the baby is 9m and you still have not had time to work on a babybook at least you have the date of the milestone and a pic

Just wanted to add this. I remember when I had my first son and I never had nursing pads and I needed something really fast. I used a panty liner, and they work great. (you had to drive at least 30 minutes to the nearest store that carried them) I cut it in half and had one for each side. :D Ok youn's can laugh at me now.
