It is not required at all..but if you really want to, just a small something...a book, a congrats balloon, etc. We went to one last year...and that is what everyone did.

We have been to two of them and for one we bought a small gift, but for the other we didn't. The one my dh & ds went to last wk is someone in their BS troop, so they went in uniform just as all the scouts do, but since they're not close personal friends we didn't send a gift. But my dh's cousins son got eagle scout a few years ago, and since it was family, we did. My understanding (could be wrong) is that it's somewhat optional, although something small would be nice. They sell eagle scout picture frames, mugs, etc at the scout store if you have one near you, or anything small would probably do. HTH

Thanks so much...I will just pick up something small to congratulate him. I have to go to the cub scout store anyway since i have lost my sons bear book for this year and i will take a look at their eagle scout stuff while i am there. I know his mom has purchased alot of that stuff like the scrapbooking and all.

Thanks for the tip!
