I am so freaking out right now. Last night just before 1 a.m., DH and I heard about five gun shots and jumped out of bed. The shooting took place in our cul-de-sac (which only has six houses on it). Turns out there was a party with teenagers that got way out of hand. As of now (5:50 a.m.), they are still detaining all 40 (or so) party goers. We saw at least two taken away in an ambulance.

I'm not sure why the party goers have been detained for so long...

I'm scared...and a little angry, too!

That would be scary! Where were the parents? Do you know them? I don't even know what I would do in that situation!

I hope your children slept through it!

No parents. It's an empty house (on the market) and the owner let his daughter throw a "college acceptance" party.

What's scary is that after the initial gunshots, a terrified young man started banging on our window screaming for us to call 911 because someone was hurt. As I was talking to him through the window, there was another gunshot!

My three kids slept through all of it. In the early morning hours, dh and I decided that we would not tell the kids about the shooting; however, because there are police all over our neighborhood and kids still being detained that might be hard to avoid.

Our cul-de-sac is still a crime scene, so no media has gotten in yet. We are not allowed to leave our homes.

The finally moved the party goers out of the cul-de-sac (they are still being detained) because I complained about them urinating on my lawn!

Oh my goodness! How horrible. What were the parents thinking when they let their teenage daughter throw a party with no adult supervision???? I really, really hope that the ones taken by ambulance are okay. Thank goodness your family was unhurt!
