Weepy I let moderators know about this a few days ago, but I could really use your prayers!

My mom went for a routine mammogram on Tuesday. They were supposed to have her results to her in 7-10 days. They called within 48 hours. She has a large mass in her right breast. She is scheduled for an ultrasound tomorrow morning. She had bone cancer almost 13 years ago, and while it was contained in one tumor, it puts her at a higher risk for repeat cancer of any type. I am living a long ways away from my parents for the first time...and I am about a basket case. I am going home next week to visit, but the thought of her having cancer...I just can't even go there right now. Please keep her in your prayers. Her name is Beverly Creel, and she is only 55 years old. She is also my second best friend, right behind my husband. I know it is a long shot for it to be a shadow, scarring, etc, but I am just praying that that IS what it is. I sure would appreciate all of your prayers, too.

I must have missed this on the mod forum (or just haven't gotten to it yet). I'm sorry to hear about your mom. Is there any way it could just be a large cyst? I've had several gigantic cysts that show up on mammogram. Or did the doctors suggest it might be cancer. Usually they have some idea based on the mammogram although they can't be completely sure until they biopsy of course. So I'll be praying it's just a cyst and it can be easily treated.
