Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I am sure some of you read about DH's alcohol issues. I called my FIL and he was going to talk to DH when we went to see them this coming weekend. DH's brother called and was talking to DH and mentioned something that I had told FIL in the conversation with him. Let me remind you that when I spoke with FIL, I asked him to keep it confidential.
So, I called FIL yesterday morning, knowing that he had spoken to my BIL. I asked who all he had told and he said he told my BIL and SIL. That "we have to pull the family together and I wanted to make sure that they did not offer him a beer when he came over." His reasoning really does not make sense and he should have at least called and told us that he had told other people.
Yesterday morning, I was in tears, devastated that my trust had been broken. I have always grown up knowing that I could trust my mom and could tell her anything and it would go no further. I foolishly assumed I could do the same with my FIL. My heart hurt yesterday morning. I have "adjusted" and have now accepted. However, I laid around and cried all morning yesterday! I know that with all of your prayers, I received strength to handle it better!!
