Question Bathroom rugs, Yea or Nay?

I currently have bathroom rugs in the bathrooms - not carpet mind you - rugs. They are far enough from the bowl so in case an 'accident' happens they wouldn't get wet. They are decorative so they do make the room look nice.

However, I'm re-thinking this. They do attract dust, lint, etc. So it is an extra cleaning step for me to take them out of the bathroom, vacuum them, wash the floor, let it dry, then put the rugs back.

We always had rugs in our bathrooms so to me the room looks 'naked' without it. What do you all have?

And as long as we are on the subject, what about those fabric toilet tops that go around the lid? Yea or Nay to those as well?

We have rugs in our bathrooms as well. I dont think they are too much of a pain to clean considering that if I didnt have one in front of the tub the flooring would be recked from the kiddos getting water everywhere. Plus I agree w/ you now that Ive had them in there for awhile the floor does look naked w/ out them.

I dont have the fabric toilet tops that go on the lid. I wouldnt be opposed to them in my bathroom but I dont think I would want them in the kids bathroom. I think they would get pretty messy in there.

I do like a cotton rug in the bathroom, even a bathroom rug that is ALL cotton, but mostly I use cotton 'rag' rugs. I have a bunch from IKEA that are great, when one is in the wash, I put a fresh one down. They're not super expensive so if one gets snagged or worn out, it's not really a big deal to delegate it to the garage. None of those rubber backed ones and none of those 'plush' sets, with the seat cover, tank cover etc - I never understood those! those! LOL! They look so dated to me...

we have rugs in our bathroom I just buy ones that I like that can be tossed in the wash. When I mop the floor the rugs get washed aslo. As for the thing on the seat we don't have one they only reason I do like having it is so the seat desn't bang on the top of the tank when you open it (well when dh) slames it open but I just put a little clear rubber thing and now it doesn't clank. I don't like not having something nice to walk on when getting out of the shower.

I only have rugs in front of the shower or tub. We only have them to catch the dripping so it isn't slippery when we get out of the shower- let's just say that coordination is not a dominant trait in our gene pool. Lol. But other than that, I don't like anything fuzzy in the bathroom. It drives me nuts...don't know why.

I use special bathroom made bathroom rugs, that way i can just throw them in the washer once a week or if they are dirty. I need to get a new one.

We have a little washable on in front of the tub. Pretty low maintainence. My bathroom is so small, that is all that fits with the door!

Well Our Kids [ hall] Bath is pretty Big - and Its done in Yellow and Rubber Duckie Theme.

I have a Few Big Plush yellow bathroom Throw Rugs to go in there - But everytime I Put them Down - The Darn Dog Pees on them
So They Come out if We have Company and the Dog is away - Otherwise they are Folded Up in the Closet .

OUr Master bath is Small
We have Two Green Rugs on the Floor , one in Front of Sink , one in Front of shower - they are there all the Time - and no animal bothers with them ...
I shake em out and Hang them over the porch rail and Lysol them Once a week - and I wash them Once a Month.

I think the More I Wash them the Worse they look so I Try only Spot Clean them if needed in Between Washings ....

I would not like to step out of the shower onto a bare floor!! (plus our bathroom floor is really ugly!). I just toss the bathroom rugs in the washer every once in a while.

Bathroom rugs - yes
rug on the toilet cover - NO.

I have 2 rugs, one in front of the sink and the other by the tub. I just think they are safe to have so you dont slip while getting out of the shower or bath.
