Anyone know about crabapples? We've got 2 trees in the yard and I don't know if they are edible or poisonous and if edible what the heck do you do with them??!!

Are the pretty big and green and dimply?? Then no, you don't want to eat them. As far as being poisonous goes, not sure.

If they are big and green and dimply, we call them hedge apples...and they ARE poisonous. My Dad used to put them in dishes and hide them behind stuff in our house to keep spiders out.

Nope they are small and red. I seem to remember trying them when I was little and they were gross, but I don't know anymore about them. My little one is always picking them up so I am trying to find out. TIA!!

I would contact your cooperative extension - they know what grows in your area and can probably help you. I would think a google search for apples could help, too.
