I go through stages. Now, I usually fall asleep on my stomach. But I'm a little weird. About ten years ago, I got 8 holes (earrings) in my left ear. Sleeping on that ear became a little painful after each new hole. So I learned to put my right hand on the pillow near my face and put the back of my palm on my cheek. That way, I wasn't putting pressure on my ear. And that's how I sleep to this day. There's no real reason for it now - my ears aren't going to hurt now, for crying out loud. Guess it's just one of those habits.

Are you preoccupied with sleeping tonight I sleep on my back or side. Never could sleep on my stomach, don't know how anyone can do that without waking up with a back ache!

Well, I DO wake up with a back ache almost every morning, if I haven't flipped around in my sleep. So you would think that I would learn - and just fall asleep on my back. But no, apparently I ENJOY back pain!

I sleep however I hit the pillow! I do need to switch positions at night occasionally, but I don't ever try to fall asleep in any particular postition.

First dh needs to not be snoring and then I roll over onto my stomach. I hated being pregnant because I couldn't sleep on my tummy! I put my hands under my pillow and off into a sweet sleep.

I've always been a big stomach sleeper but I've been trying to sleep more on my side or back lately. Last year my dad gave me his old Select Comfort pillow for stomach sleepers and for some reason I started sleeping on my stomach with my bent arm under my head and pillow. A couple months ago I started having numbness in a couple of my fingers and part of my hand and come to find out it's ulnar nerve palsey which is caused by putting pressure on the bent elbow (where the ulnar nerve is exposed and easily compressed). So the doctor told me to find a new way to sleep. ARGH!!!

I toss and turn throughout the night. I usually start in a fetal postion and usually will finally get out of my bed while sleeping on my back. Usually I am aware when I am switcing positions!

That's me, too. I feel like I'm awake for every toss and turn I make!

Also, I try hard not to sleep on my stomach (I can't right now because I'm 6 mos pregnant anyhow), because my chiropractor said that it's really bad for your back and can change the shape of your spine!
