I came home today and my bedroom has new carpet in it!!!! How any one builds a house a do not know. We are doing some remodeling on our house - and I don't mean major - just new flooring, painting our bedroom and we did change out a couple of ceiling lights. And it is taking forever. We still have each of my girls bedrooms to do and the kids' bonus room. I love that we are fixing up our house - trust me this has been a long time coming - I don't think we have ever had new carpet since we have been married and that has been 17 years!!!!! I just hate being in this mess!!!!

Congratulations Kaye! I desperately want new carpet & especially a new floor in the kitchen. DH brought me back to reality & said that we need to wait on new carpet until DS is older(he's only 2 & messy)

Oh well....I will live vicariously through you.

I'm excited for you!! I would love to get rid of the ugly "brady bunch" inspired kitchen flooring we have now!

Well I will say that it is hard with a 2 year old to keep carpet clean but my two teenagers are not much better. I was embrassed by how dirty our old carpet was when we pulled it up. I could not believe it. Stacey - when that baby gets older - then you can get you some new carpet. I could not yell at a 2 year old like I can 2 teenagers that should know better!!!! I have been wondering though if I should get my family to take their shoes off and not tromp thru the house with shoes on? Or is that tacky? I would not tell my guest to take their shoes off but our family - I don't really see the harm in that? What do you guys think?

To tell you the truth Kaye I think that this may be the original carpet-but I will wait. Sometimes my DH & my 6 year old dirty up the carpet too.

I would definitely tell your kids & DH to take their shoes off when they come in-but not guests. I see no harm in it.
