That is so funny.
Back in HS, my best friend and I were in outdoor rec class (climbing, canoing, etc) with a kid who looked exactly like a monkey. So we calle dhim monkey boy. One day our teacher (who was also my track coach) heard us and we told her it was because he climbed the wall so good. Years later, I had to tell her the story the truth behind the name (she was able to laugh though because he was long gone)
