Money aside, is there something your child wants that you refuse to buy?

For us it's a 4-wheeler or ATV. We have one of those riding jeeps you get at the toy store that goes like 5 MPH tops. DD saw a real 4 wheeler and wanted to upgrade. I told her no because I've taken care of too many adults and children that have been hurt on these.

I refuse to buy/let them wear Tshirts with those silly saying like "I hate math" etc.

I also won't let them use/buy those fake tattoo thingys. I hate those on kids! JMO

Oh you made me think of any clothing with writing on the bottom. There is no reason my child needs to have words on her tush that someone has to check out to read.

I won't buy my son toy guns. Cheap-ol' water guns are OK I guess, but I can't see my son running around shooting people even if it is pretend.

This one is silly, but I still have not broken down and bought my son tennis shoes with characters on them. I'm just don't prefer to have a big ugly picture on the side of his shoes. Though, we will see how well I hold out on this one as my 2 year old gets older. I'm sure he will end up begging for some favorite character some day.

I won't by my son a 4-wheeler either. I actually have a friend who's husband broke his back on one of those!!!!
And I will NEVER EVER give my kids the OK to ride a motorcycle. I know someone else who died on one of those.

Guess I'm just a protective Mommy.

T-shirts with rude, too suggestive, or inappropiate wording like some of the Happy Bunny ones. We also aren't buying any video type games like Nintendo, etc. Also no Bratz.

In most cases, I won't buy several of the same toy for each of my kids. Example: One child had a doodle pad, and grandma insisted that we have another for the other child. I think they need to learn to share. Another example is that the grandparents bought a sandbox for each kid! I just think that's overkill and they don't learn to play together that way...

There are lots of things I won't buy for my kids:

Bratz anything
inappropriate clothes (too short, too tight, too suggestive, inappropriate sayings, words on butt, "naughty" sayings)
guns (other than water guns)
sponge bob stuff
video games of any type
now that you mention it, ATVs

That's all I can think of now, but I'm sure there are more!
