My daughter is at daycare today. She's 3, though she'll be 4 next month, and she's never done daycare. But I enrolled her one day a week this month to prepare her for pre-school that starts next week.

My husband picked her up last week and brought her home and tells her, "Tell Mommy what you did." Oh no... this can't be good, I think to myself.

After some you can tell her, she starts telling me, "Mommy, I pulled my friend's hair. I pulled my friend's dress. And I tried pulling my friend's pony's head off." I'm still questioning that one! And then she tells me, "My teacher tried talking to me and I started screaming."

And she didn't stop screaming until my husband got there. Thank heavens he picked her up that day and it wasn't me! She pulled this screaming fit on me one time and it went on for 1 1/2 hours until she finally fell asleep.

Anyway, I took her back today. We've had talks and I think she's good. She also stayed the whole day last week and I'm not letting her do that today. I pick her up in about an hour and I'm a little nervous.

Am I the only parent that has had something like this happen?

Not at daycare, but at home, Brandon was a screamer. To the point the neighbor used to come check on us!

When I started Kindergarten, I was so terrified that
I cried every day when my mom dropped me off. I
mean all year long!!
If I had some type of daycare or something where
I was used to being around others it would have
helped me.
I know it must be hard to hang in there, but it will
be worth it for you and her.

Oh my. Well, I hear ya. My DD3 is kind of crazy like that, too. On a side note, in most cases it is helpful for a child to be in daycare/preschool at least 2 days per week in order for them to transition smoothly into a new care situation.
