ok so now since we have a conservative government they put through a bill that says all families with children under the age of 6 get an extra 1200 a year, or 100 a month per child under the age of 6. what would you do with this extra money?i am planning on treating it like its not even there. i am going to withdraw it and put it into my savings account that i have with my dad, we get a total of 200 until november, so it will be a great help to put it away for christmas shopping or for emergencies. but what would you do with 200 extra month.

Put it towards insurance or savings for a new car!

Why did they propose that bill? Is that on top of the 1000 tax break you get for having a child as well?

I would probably spend it on bills.

I think what you are planning is a great idea. Myself, I would probably pay off a bill I am working on, then start saving it.

it has something to do with a reformed daycare act thingy i think. i wasn't apying much attention as to why we get it i am just glad that we get it. lol. i think i will put it inthe savings with my dad and leave it there to build up every month so that we have something to use as a fall back in case of emergency.

Is this here in the US? I can't simply click on your names anymore to find out about you.

Kimberley, You live in Canada, right? I wish we would get that same extra cash. To answer your question, if you don't have anything that needs immediate pay-off, yes, I would put it in savings and pretend it isn't there. Good thinking.

You can simply click on the 'profile' button and find the same info you could find by clicking on the name at the old site.

That sounds like a great idea, putting it into a savings account, so have it for whatever you need to use it for.

Oh that would be nice, but there are trade offs to it, just remember that! Anyway I would put it away and pretend it is invisible and does not exist.
