Yesterday!!! :happy dance:

Since I had to leave my job due to complications, we decided to change plans from having a big bash in a couple years to really tiny, right now. "Reverend Clay" is one of Terry's co-workers - they are tree trimmers. Clay got ordained a few years ago, and does about 10 weddings a year. He did ours for gas money - actually was going to do it for free, but Terry gave him money since it was about a 3 hour drive one way for Clay.

The guests were Terry's parents, my parents, my older brother, and my best friend. My brother and friend did the witnessing for the license.

Since we weren't having a big wedding, I want to have *one* nice special thing for us, to get married at our cabin, on the lake we own. So we did My mom went and bought those little bite sized cheesecakes for our wedding "cake". After the ceremony, everyone hung out and we all had a lot of fun chatting.

My mom and I went shopping at the mall Thursday for a dress, and stopped in a neat store on the way to the maternity store. They had a lot of dresses and skirts in gorgeous fabrics and kind of a middle eastern / indian flair. I got the dress for $45, the tube top on sale at Penney's for $3, and earrings and the head band at Claire's for cheap. Shoes from Payless. My whole outfit was less than $100 I told Terry to wear what he wore.

Super frugal, simple easy wedding! Perfect!

Oh, and also found out Thursday that we are having a baby girl (I'm due Jan 30th). Name will be Savannah Marie

Oh, and no face pictures because I was making some REALLY weird faces. Hopefully my brother or mom got some pics without me making some sort of alien face....

Congrats!!!! Looks like it was a nice weather for you. Nothing wrong with small weddings, sometimes those informal weddings are the most special and memorable ones. The dress is very pretty!! Just remember it's not the big wedding that counts, it's the great marriage that does!!
Cheers to happy couple!!

Congrats!!! It sounds wonderful!!! My dh and I got married really small 22 years ago, and I would never do it any other way!!! Like Kelly said, the wedding is not important, it is all the years (and love) that comes after!!

BTW You look beautiful!

Congratulations!!! My Dh and I got married 5 years ago and we had a small wedding and had a cookout afterwards. I can't see paying thousands of dollars for wedding and reception and spend years paying for it. It's all about the marriage, not how glamorous the wedding is.

If our relationship is any indicator on what our marriage will be like, then I hit the jackpot!

We have been friends for about 5 years, and he's always been a trusted, responsible, and reliable friend. When we started dating after my first disaster marriage, neither one of us were sure it would work - we are very different in some ways - he grew up in the city, I grew up on a farm, he's a neat freak, I'm a slob. However, we enjoy LOTS of activities together (as pictured by the hunting boat in the third pic!) We both hunt and fish a lot, like being outside all the time, love living in the country, love being able to be as self sufficient as possible. Not to mention he is hugely respectful and affectionate and caring and very strong, and always encouraging. I like being the same way - treating him as best as I can possibly do, being thankful for him and telling him so. He's been very supportive of me leaving my job to stay at home, and I do my best to make him a home that is as warm and welcoming to him as possible.

Yup, I'm all mushy :D
