My DH actually asked me to post

He NEVER wears underwear b/c he doesn't like them riding up (that and I think he believes he is so well endowed----eh, whatever) The real issue is that he has some "sensory" issues and can't "handle" things like underwear, wrist watches, rings, etc.

He recently started working in a nursing home and wearing scrubs---I told him he HAS to wear underwear (and not boxers) because it's really gross to see it dangling around. (not to mention very unprofessional) eew, anyway....

Any suggestions????

He is trying some hanes tagless things that are sort of like the Hanes perfect panties but they are sort of like shorts but they are "fitted" because of the stretchy fabric--but he says they stretch out and ride up.

I suggested tighty-whiteys and he said he has never been able to wear them w/o them riding up--I told him to buy some that arent too big--they should be a snug fit, if they are riding up, they must be too loose.

HELP!!! He's driving me nuts!!!!!

And just an observation........mens undies are really expensive....too expensive to try EVERY kind only for him to decide he will never wear it again!!!!

Thanks!

Ewww. My brother in law is like that, and his wife and I think that is just gross. The undies at least catch the little "after sprinkles", and my dh's undies leave something to be desired in the cleanliness area - that it pants, which men tend to wear more than once. Yuk. We don't go the Hanes route - doesn't last long. We get the Polo, Ralph Lauren brand. Yes, they are a bit more, but there are three pluses - they soften over time, they are very comfortable, and it makes him probably feel a "little" more special to have a premium kind. We get the boxer briefs - they're sexier to me. But your biggest issue is that he's not your kid, but a grown man who probably chafes (pun intended) if you try to get him to do something. Maybe you can just buy the underwear, a few pair, and don't make a big deal of it, just say you picked up some for him and they are on the bed or something. Maybe he will try it out of curiosity or just to please you. Have fun.

Are you talking about boxer briefs? They don't seem like they would ride up. But I could be wrong.

Seriously--I think he's mental sometimes!

EVERYTHING "rides" up to him (or gets stuck in the crack).

When I met him he wore string thongs b/c then he didn't have to worry about it getting stuck b/c it was already there???? (yeah, I don't get it either)

DH is very clean, always wipes, never wears the same thing twice w/o washing it, never goes anywhere w/o showering---see what I mean???? He is like obsessive compulsive about being clean and comfortable. He doesn't wear a wedding ring b/c he can't handle it--he has to wear a watch for work and it's just killing him (he uses it for measuring respirations and pulse, etc.)

Yeah--I don't know what to try and yeah like the previous poster suggested, usually the more they cost, the more he likes them--I remember shopping at Macy's for his stuff before "brand-name" and big bucks, I just can't spend $20 on a pair of skivvy's.

He has also put off his vasectomy partially because he doesn't think he can handle snug fitting underwear after it.

It's a lot like living with a child with sensory issues...........thanks again for all your help!

What about the kind that have the "legs" in them. Not just the briefs, or the loose boxers. My son wears them and he seems to like them. My husband does not like them, he's a brief man. I don't think I could take the skid marks directly on the pants! LOL I hope that helps. What about some type of sports apparatus??? Jock strap, thong???? Why do men have all these hangupss??? What if they had to wear a bra, sanitary products, and a nursing baby!!!!! LOL

Ummmm...can he just go back to the thongs? It seems like they were working for him before...I really can't believe we are all discussing this...

Maybe boxer briefs?

Could you get the higher end brands at an outlet and pay less for them?

My dh hates undies as well. He SWEARS by the Boxer Breifs loves them. They fit like briefs, but have legs like boxers. But theya re fitted so they don't 'float' all around or ride up.

Oh, Spoodler..two posts in a row from you have had me cracking up. I also can't believe we are discussing this!! Poor guy. LOL I say try boxer briefs...they DO make looser and tighter ones...so check both types.
