I have had crocs for two years now and I do wear them for gardening. They are really comfortable but I just wear them to garden. I wear Burkenstocks if I'm anywhere else. That is my shoe of choice. They get wet inside and I don't like to wear them around so much until they really dry out. Once in a while I go through spurts where I will wear them more but not too often. They ARE comfortable though. I have thought about getting other colors but they are too expensive.

They are pretty popular here, too. I finally broke down and bought some for myself and dd. Got them at Beall's on clearence. They are BareTrap brand (reg. 30) but I got both pair for $11!! Yeah!!! Lime green for me and pink for dd.

I've seen lots of young girls wear them here in So. Cal, but my friend in Colorado told me that her sons wear them. I still have yet to see any boys in them here. If I'm reading this thread correctly...boys wear them too???

Oh yeah, boys wear them too. I am in Atlanta and everyone wears them here, even men! We all have them (except the baby) and love them. We have been wearing them since last year. My ds wears his every day. He has bright blue ones. They are super ugly, but no worse than birkenstocks IMO. And I think $30 for a pair of shoes he wears all the darn time is a pretty good deal!

The first time we saw a lot of people wearing them was when we went to Disney in June. We thought they were really ugly. I am guessing they must be comforatble though for people to be wearing them walking around the Disney parks. I don't really understand the trend though. They have been sold for years are gardening shoes.

They're very popular here...more among kids 2-12 than adults but I see plenty of adults wearing them, even men, which always cracks me up. LOL I think they're soooooo ugly...I don't care how comfy they are. LOL There is no way I'd wear them. I feel the same way about Birkenstocks.:D

I come from the birthplace of Crocs, and though I personally think they're ugly, they're everywhere because they are so practical. They are super comfy because the rubber molds to the shape of your foot. (One caveat: they can melt in hot summer cars or other hot places!) They are great for little kids because they can put them on themselves, they can get wet, and they outlast just about everything else. I thought they were just summer shoes, but in Colorado everyone wears them with socks in everything but snow.

Enjoy!

I gotta pipe in here and say I thought I'd never find myself, let alone my kids and dh wearing crocs. However we bought them to wear at Disney in May and they saved my feet! I've always been a Birkenstock lover (for the past 7 years-LOL) but now when I go back to them I wake up with hurting feet the next day. My dh and I got real Crocs for $20.00 and my kids got Payless ones since they're feet grow so fast, pllus I didn't know if they'd like them. I just got my kids another pair from Payless..the red, white and blue ones. I ordered them online for $9.99 a pair and the 2nd was half off with free shipping to the store near me. I got them in 5 days even though the order confirmation said 10-14 days. It's all my dd wants to wear! I guess we'll wean ourselves off them this winter-LOL! Oh and I had told my dh when I 1st got them that if he didn't want them I'd Ebay them...ha..a week later he sheepishly admitted he wanted to keep them and loves them!
