The tornado in Nicollet/Kasota was only about 10 miles from us. At the time the sirens were going off, I had a friend over along with her five kids for a play date. Imagine our group of seven children (all under the age of 7) hearing the sirens running around screaming, "A TORNADO IS COMING!!" Oi.

Oddly enough, we didn't even get rain. We watched the radar on the TV and realized it was North of us, so we never headed to the basement.

We saw some of the damage yesterday. It's amazing how it can rip through a town and some houses are hit and some aren't damaged at all. We talked to one of Scott's old co-workers who lives a block from where it hit. She said she saw it and it was awesome - in a WOW kind of way. She also said it was really loud. Glad we didn't get THAT close.
