We have them and make me a little bonkers! Argh! They HAVE really improved our lawn. We contracted with them when we moved into this new house and the yard is just so much bigger than our old house, Dh just didn't want to deal with it himself. We have been pleased...

BUT

I think they're getting lazy. I am usually home when they're here...they don't knock or anything, they just do their application. I watched the guy today do two zips around our backyard. That's it. Not nearly enough to apply fertilizer to the whole lawn! I can see the tire marks in the front, and he seemed to do a more thorough job up there but I was a little annoyed!

So I called them and up and they were very apologetic and will come out, free of charge, to give me another application in a few weeks. Fine. They also marked my account so that they have to knock when they come to the house, and if nobody is home, they can't do the application.

I have a feeling the guy had no idea I was here today and figured he could just be lazy about the backyard. Unfortunately, we don't get the same person each time. I wish we did!

They also call constantly...wanting to treat me for grubs or mites or whatever. I just don't answer the phone anymore when it says "TruGreen ChemLawn". LOL

Gosh, am I satisfied? LOL! Sounds like I'm not! I'm glad the grass looks nice but we're spending a lot of money on this and I want to be getting what I'm paying for! Does anyone else have experience with this company?

I used them last year about I was NOT happy. They spaced the applications out very poorly so I had two applications too close together and a huge gap between others. They say you can call at any time if you are unhappy with weeds and they will come right out but when I called to complain, they just said it was a bad year for everyone and wouldn't come out. I was constantly getting sales call too so I finally said something and they offered to remove me from their call list. This year a found a local company that was almost half the price! They aren't perfect either but better and cheaper!

It saves us so much trouble that it is totally worth the cost!

We've used TruGreen for almost 2 yrs. and never have had a problem. When they call wanting me to do additional services, I ask them to mail the literature on it so I can do a little research. I always get it in the mail in a few days and read it but rarely have them do it. We had lots of rain this summer and everyone had yellow spots in their lawns from too much water, TruGreen sprayed all customers that were effected for free, my lawn improved greatly within 72 hrs. Luckily I've had the same guy the entire time and he always does a great job.

We don't use anything. We just mow the combination of violet, clover, crabgrass, quackgrass, creeping charlie, bindweed, and whatever those tall things are, being careful not to trip on the mole holes and tunnels. We back up to wetlands & our neighbors are on well water, so we don't feel that we can use chemicals like that. We have 3/4 acre and no sprinkler system anyway, so we're going for that "municipal park" lawn. Green stuff that looks OK when it's mowed. Don't walk barefoot & watch out for the deer scat.

How much are you paying for this service? It's something we've been considering.
