We don't buy gifts for extended adult family members (cousins, aunts/uncles) just my cousins' children (there's about 4 kids). On my side of the family, my siblings and I decided to buy only for the children (neices and nephew) and our parents. On DH side, we just buy presents for MIL and SIL and her DH since they do no have any children (DH says that once SIL and her husband start having kids then we will just buy the kids). DH has 2 other older sisters and neices and nephews, but for various reasons we aren't in contact with them.

Money is very tight this year since we are still paying two mortgages so I have already warned DH, not to go overboard this year.

We buy for our nieces and nephew (3 plus one on the way) and both of our parents. If we were to get aunts and uncles and cousins it would cost us a fortune (very large extended families).

for my family I just have 1 brother he is married and 2 boys!! my SIl and I have decided to only do gifts for hte kids!! it seems as tho we end up just handing money to each other!!
we would rather have fun getting gifts for the kids!!!
and we get for my parents!!

DH family well he has a bigger family and we have done the exchange thing! It sucks!!!
His family decieds to spend soo much on each other!! well we do get them nice gifts but we have noticed they USE us to get nice gifts then turn around get us dollarstore gifts not that its about gifts but it would be nice to get something that doesnt fall apart in a week!! so the pat year we told them we didnt want ot do it anymore!! (they would get mad at us if we didnt get them Really nice items!!! )
