Hi

I am thinking of getting my 3 year old a leapster for Christmas.

Do you think that is too young for it?? He is a young 3 .

Or what would you recommened?? I am tired of buying toys that i am wanting to get rid of 3 months later.

I do think he's too young, I would wait until 4. I have a Leapster for my 3 year old but I put it up for next year. How about puzzles, games, books, dress up items if you don't have already, play kitchen items if you don't have already, art supplies?

I think it depends on your 3 year old. My oldest has been playing with her Leapster since she was that old. I have bought a few new games but it has been a very good toy.

I know what you mean about spending money on the 2 minute toys. That drives me crazy. I had a really hard time buying my 2 year old's birthday present.

Favorite toys at this house are the Thomas Train Table, Leapster, Disney Princess Laptop Duplos.

Good luck.

My dd got her leapster when she was 3- at first she had a "hard" time with it- I think she was just not ready- she got better with it over time and now she plays with hers constantly. If you are tired of a big mess of toys- I would go ahead and get your child the Leapster- if he is not too good with it- just put it aside for a few months.

Some things that my girls really liked at that age (besides dress up clothes, play kitchens and etc)- were crafty things. I love the Color Wonder stuff from Crayola- although it can be pricey sometimes, you can usually find them on sale at Toys R Us for BOGO or B2GO free). My youngest really liked her aquadoodle things (notice the trend I have- I don't like a ton of mess !).
