...because of Veterans' Day?

My sisters' kids are off on Monday instead.

Didn't know about this until I read a flyer they sent home with the kids yesterday.
Seems here the kids get off for EVERYTHING! If there's a State Fair - kids get off school to go to it. If there's a fluke 1 inch of snow on the ground - school gets called off!!

Nope, not here. Does that mean no mail? I don't like no mail days.

My kids were off today too, but because it's a waiver/teacher in-service day!! And no such luck here, with my 2 getting along. Not even with the promise of going to look at our neighbor's 6 week old puppies....didn't matter...they've done nothing but whine and fight, and bicker, and gotten on my last nerve!! Getting them to do their chores was a joke, and they each spent about 20 minutes in their rooms! ARGH!!!

Their next days off will be for Thanksgiving....they get the day before and the Monday following Thanksgiving off. I kinda understand having the Wednesday off, but the ONLY reason they have the following Monday off is because is the 1st day of gun season for deer! LOL

My kids are off today too, but its a teacher inservice day. MONDAY is the offical holiday so my kids are off for a 4 day weekend.

The following week is Thanksgiving, so they have a half day on WEdnesday, then off Thurs, fri, Sat, and sun. Then they have a full day Monday, and half days Tues and Wed for parent confernces.... There is hardly any school this month!!

We don't get any time off for Veteran's day. They have a big program at school on Monday, though.

Why be off for Veteran's Day today? It isn't until Monday. That doesn't make sense to me. My kids are off on Monday.

Four day weekend for school kids here also. Monday is the holiday and today is... *hmm, goes to check* Elementary teacher work day .... *although the high schoolers are out too,, go figure*

Anyway,, my two big ones aren't home anymore now anyway! lol.. one went with her friend and her family to the city.. they both have physical therapy this afternoon, so payton gets to ride with them,, save me a trip!!

Fallon is off with her bf,, so just me and the youngest like a typical friday now,, only the morning was 'busier'.
