Does anyone know if you can add a humidifier onto your furnace or would you have to buy a whole new furnace with that option on it. I also might not know exactly what I'm talking about so someone feel free to set me straight.

Depending on the type of heating system you have you can add one yourself. We have forced hot air and DH put the humidfier in himself (thats what he does though - he's a home heating service tech). I dont think it was expensive to purchase the unit. It makes a huge difference though if you have forced hot air, its not so dry in the house and you can adjust it to the amount of humidity you want.

I'm pretty sure you can add it. It is really nice to have a whole house humidifier. I hate messing with all those D*** tanks and trying to find a flat surface out of kids' reach in each room!!
