The past few years, my kids were swimming on a swim team where they each had one coach. At Christmastime, we would give each caoch a small gift and card. I knew the coaches pretty well too, so that made it easier.

We started on a new team this past fall and not only do I not know the coaches very well, but several coaches share the coaching responsibility. So it's not just one or two people.

I think I want to do some sort of basket for the whole group. They coaches are pretty young, ranging from 20 to *maybe* 30. LOL I looked at Cookies by Design, Edible Arrangements etc And not only are they expensive, I just don't know if it will be enough (Cookies by Design esp). Also, do I want to give just fruit? LOL

Argh! Anyhow...so I might do homemade baked goods and maybe some beautiful pears or something. Is there anything else I can stick in there that folks think might be good?

You are so nice to remember them. My dh has coached 3 different sports for a total of 5 seasons now and nobody has ever once gotten him a gift! I am doing a couple of gift basket type things this year. One will be a breakfast theme basket with pancake mix, good syrup, and applewood smoked bacon in a little mixing bowl. The other will be a pasta theme with a couple of good sauces, some yummy noodles, a jar of pesto, some parmesan, and I am going to put it all in a big red colander instead of a basket. I would think both of these type things would go over with men.

For my girls soccer coaches the parents got to gether and got each coach a gift card, on dd1s team each parent gave $5 and we got her a Kohls gift card for $50 and the other $10 went towards the girls pizza party, on dd2s team we are giving $10 each parent since there are 2 coaches and we are getting them each a GC to a favorite rest., not sure what we are doing for dd3s team, but probably something similar (it will be pretty easy for that team though, the coaches are married!LOL) I love the food themed gifts! I might do something like that for their teachers at school.
